What I saw in that link is another back to VJ which explains how to marry on the international bridge at El Paso.........they still had to file I-130 and CR-1 it appears.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It is old but was also focusing on the Parole route.

 

Basically the process is:

 

Marry

Spouse who can not obtain a visa to the US gets one to go to Mexico

Seeks to be paroled into the US at a land border.

Adjusts status

 

I have seen it done, just not for some time.

You are 100% correct.

You broke it down into the parts, but this is how he did it.

I think it would still work, but I would want to coord all the small details before I bought plane tickets.

Yes, it can work. But it's also 100% discretionary...they can deny for any reason here. I can't imagine it's often granted.

Took me a while to remember seeing it, and I am not sure when or where I saw it, pretty sure not on here.

 

It is discretionary but my recollection was it was one of those discretions that is pretty much always given. Well was because I do not remember seeing any similar discussion for a long time.

 

My thought would be first you need to get to a land border, then go through the process and even assuming it is usually  given I wonder how many people working at a PoE would have a clue what you were asking for. Seems to lack a lot of certainty.

I would not hang my hat on PIP, and certainly not for someone outside the US. 

 

PIP is predominantly used by military personnel after they have married someone in the US who is unlawfully present, usually after an EWI. PIP allows them to be able to adjust status despite the illegal entry.
