Beneficiary doesn't have a birth certificate.

Hello,

We're gathering documents for our packet 3. One of the things that required is the birth certificate. My fiance does not have her original but a copy of it. Would that be ok? If not what are our options at this point.

Thank You,

Look up the country here and find out which birth documents are acceptable:

She will need to get her long form certificate. If she already has it then it would be a certified copy of her birth registration. You never get back the original of anything with the government. It is always a certified copy.

Yeah, you'll need that long form birth certificate for the K1 interview. Most provinces have "emergency" units for ordering birth certs/ live documents but it costs more money. Best look into this immediately. Best of luck :)
