So, it wasn't a DCF or a re-schedule after the NVC had originally scheduled it?  I guess anything is possible, but I would suggest you tell that person that self-scheduling is not the norm.

Is your blog public?  Link?

I am not giving suggestions she was able to schedule her own interview and everything went through smoothly. This is why I don’t give out my link to my blog because everyone does not read the statements properly and then respond but thank you for your input

The NVC schedules FIRST TIME CR1 visa interview dates and SENDS the applicant's FILE to the embassy/consulate, usually a week prior to the appointment date. (During that period the status would normally read "IN TRANSIT").

SO, scheduling one's own interview date without the file being sent to the embassy/consulate by the NVC may very likely encounter problems.

For a non-DCF case I don't think this is possible.  However you could MISS your first appointment and then schedule your own.  I have heard of people successfully interviewing that way.

Once again she is stating she ran into no issues. Also she is stating that there is no file that is sent the embassy they also use the CEAC system to verify all information.

She ran into no issue regarding the scheduling or at the interview? And again, A FILE IS SURELY SENT TO THE EMBASSY FROM NVC...Unless maybe she did a DCF. The process; Petitioner files with uscis, uscis approves and forwards to NVC, NVC requests supporting documents from beneficiary/applicant, approves, schedules appointment date and SENDS the DOCUMENTS/FILE to the embassy/consulate prior to interview. So like i said, if NO FILE OF HER'S was sent to the embassy from NVC, then she may have done a DCF or possibly something else.

Good question. I think OP does not have the whole story from the person who did his/her own scheduling on a FIRST TIME CR-1/IR-1

OP had enough facts to ask all you had to do was say yes or no if it happened for you or not. Or if it didn’t to keep moving lol. She didn’t Direct file thank you very much. I’ve already had a few inbox me with their stories but thank you again for your input. 🤦🏽‍♀️

If she managed to schedule an initial CR-1 interview at her consulate on her own before the NVC did, please share with us how she accomplished this?  The knowledge would be valuable for others.  You seem secretive....

You don't need to trouble yourself with what the OP is putting up here. If you manage to schedule your own interview date, you can surely not manage to bring your file from the NVC to the interview. In that case you will arrive at the embassy/consulate and your file will not be there...AND THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEW FOR YOU. The rule of the process is WAIT PATIENTLY OR IMPATIENTLY for the NVC to schedule the appointment for you, there is no short cut anywhere

I’m not sure how I seem secretive all I did was ask a question. This was not for informational purposes for everyone else. I was doing a fact check on my end. I can most certainly ask her for details but as the “polite” person has stated before you there simply is no way. I don’t see the point in prying into her case any further then what was already given to me. I will gladly message you if I get any interesting facts. But what I received thus far was that she took the liberty of scheduling for her husband herself. She had been waiting about 4 and a half months for a scheduled interview and never received it. Her husband wasn’t asked for any additional documents and the interview was a success. He is currently with her here now. As I have already stated and repeated this was simply a question to see if anyone else was successful in this process. Obviously some people are a little more frustrated at the system then they would like to put on but I was just here to fact check. If someone is telling me information in private then that is where it will remain you are more then welcome to message me directly through this platform or my other platforms on Facebook or YouTube to continue this conversation if need be. Search by my name on here and you should find me easily. Have a wonderful rest of your day!! 🥰
