Where are you in the K1 process? I've seen people for countries listed as terrorism sponsors and they get visas. It might be harder and I know you are worried (I am too) but for now we can only talk about possible scenarios. I have to agree with @Cyberfx1024 as for now, the US has kept things separated from people and government, I hope they continue that path.

That's the one that I do agree with this administration in how they are dealing with Venezuela. They are trying REALLY hard to separate the populace with people in the administration and their lackeys.

I don't see where it says we can't apply for immigrant visas. Under the link you sent https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/frequently-asked-questions/visa-applicants-from-state-sponsors.html there's a part talking about immigrant and non immigrant visas.

 

I'm K1. currently waiting for NVC number to schedule medical an interview.

 I do see the section that gives a break down of details for applying for both types, but the specific question on the state department website asking if this will affect the process specifically says, “Applicants may apply for nonimmigrant visas.” Not both immigrant and nonimmigrant.

I think it will depend on the interpretation... I'm guessing if immigrant visas were not granted, they would have include it there very clear. 

 

There's a chart also talking about visa ban for some countries, this took effect in 2017 and it's current still (I believe). Some of these countries are related to the terrorism sponsor list, but you can see how each one has different conditions:

 

 

Iran is currently listed as a terrorism sponsor country and they can access to some visas, as for Syria, I know there's people in this forum appliyimg for K1. And now that I mentioned that I think they were allowed to keep the process because the application was on going (I'll do more research on this and let you know).

 

But as you can see, is not a general rule for every country. With Venezuela they are being very careful to not included everyone on this, only government officials and immediate family members.

I'm venezuelan living currently in Venezuela waiting my case number by NVC and to have my interview in Caracas I hope in February. The situation here can change any moment, we don't know. If for some reason can not the embassy attend more appoinments, other embassy like Bogota, for instance, should attend those cases.
