Sealed Affidavits ?

Hi everyone.

Quick question:

 

My wife(us citizen) is from Texas, but we live in another state now. Her mother and her friend mailed affidavits from Texas and we did not open them. We thought to mail them sealed like that would that be a good idea, add more authenticity to it?

We have no clue what they wrote in there.

 

We will have one affidavit that will be open from my sister who lives in the same house as we do.

I understand your train of thought behind this---but when you think of the flipside, there's no reason for them to believe you didn't just seal it in the envelope yourself, know what I mean?

 

Open or sealed, doesn't make a difference as to the authenticity.

You may want to read them incase something is written in there that may be questionable/hurt your petition depending on how it's specifically worded....something else to think about ;)

Agreed. Don't send anything you don't have to unless you know it helps (or at least doesn't hurt) your case.

I sent  3 affidavits and all are opened. Yes they’re right, it’s better to see what’s written on the affidavits than be sorry. Also, I don’t think sealed affidavits are more special than opened since mine went successfully until citizenship. (submitted open affidavits from K1-AOS-ROC ).

Makes me think of college application reference letters (before everything moved online) when the letter writer was asked to sign over the envelope seal.  Seriously though no point in sending them sealed.  Will likely just add confusion without adding authenticity.
