i129f filed, when for the affidavit of support?

I filed our i129f petition for fiance one month ago. We already received our NOA1 and now patiently waiting for NOA2. However, I am wondering, will the request for affidavit of support come in the mail first or does the approval denial (NOA2) come first? And if they send me a request to fill out/send an affidavit of support, when will that be? Thanks so much!

Thank you, I have read through it. I just heard that they cannot approve the petition unless they have a completed affidavit of support first, not sure if this is true..

It's not...no idea where you read otherwise. The I-134 is presented at the interview.

I would wait until NOA2. Especially now because you have to wait months before your NOA2 and we will roll-over to a new year. If you file affidavit now for the tax year 2017, by next year, you’ll have to file another affidavit for the tax year 2018. Does that make sense? Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thank you! Will there be instructions on the NOA2 to start gathering documents for the affidavit of support?

There will be a packet 3 and 4 (or just packet 4 with some consulates) with information on what is needed. This is after NOA2 and after NVC sends the approved petition to the embassy/consulate.

Specifics vary by country.

Normally it's about a month after NOA2 to go through NVC and get to the consulate. After that,m it depends on the consulate...some are within days and others could be a couple months or so.

Are these packets sent to the petitioner or beneficiary?

As with everything else post NOA-2, depends on the consulate.   In our case, packet 3 was emailed to petitioner.
