Schedule medical before receiving letter from NVC?

Hi all!

just wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to whether I can schedule my medical examination now, prior to receiving the instruction letter from the NVC? I have a case number and an invoice ID number from the NVC already, just not the physical email or letter yet.

I will be attending a doctor in Melbourne, Australia. The embassy processing my visa is Sydney, Australia.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, as always!

We did. Since Interview appointments were roughly a month out, we went ahead and booked both. He just had his medical yesterday and the letter came before but they didn't even ask for it. Just wanted the ID number. This is London however, so I am not sure if it is the same there. Both the medical and interview could be changed if needed in London, so check to see if that is an option there.  Good Luck!

I did...I'm having my medical tomorrow at Sonic Health Plus.  They only need your Case Number to get medical done.  Bring 4x passport pics, passport and serology report.

Make sure that the medical facility is accepted by the Embassy.  There is only one medical facility in the Philippines that the US Embassy accepts so people have to travel from the provinces to Manila for the exams.  That may be one reason that the Philippines gives the medical packet to the beneficiary after the exam to hand carry to the interview.  The US Embassy in Manila does not allow any other facility to do this exam.

There are people who go to their local doctor but the exam is not accepted by the US.  Just a heads up to make sure it is a listed facility in Australia.  Also remember that medical does expire so if you go too soon you may have issues later if there is a delay for POE.

What the above said!

As soon as you get an SYD case number, you can book medical. Theyre usually 2 week out appointments.
