Public Charge Bond

Greetings,

 

Has anyone used the Public Charge bond method in lew of form I-864?  I am hoping to learn if this method could be used for my step son's immigration as i do not have current tax returns. Thank you in advance for any help.

No.  You can use a joint sponsor if needed.  Are you not over the poverty guidelines or just havent done tax returns?

as was said, no. You can use a co sponsor if your income does not meet the requirement. Why do you not have previous years tax returns/ transcripts (you can print those off the IRS website)?

Public Charge Bond

The Public Charge Bond is utilized to ensure that an admitted alien does not accept public assistance (such as welfare monies or food stamps).  The Public Charge Bond obligations remain in force until; 1) Permanent departure from the U.S. of the bonded alien; 2) Naturalization of the bonded alien; 3) Death of the bonded alien.  If the bonded alien accepts any prohibited public assistance, the bond will be forfeited, and the surety will be required to pay the full face amount of the bond.

 

For any who dont know a bond is a type of insurance policy.

Aaahh had a blonde moment, coming back to me now. Yep there is that provision but it is never used.

Is it possible? Yes. But this is a path virtually never walked.

 

Why don't you have tax returns?
