Just got the N-400 Citizenship Interview letter!!!!

YAAAY!

See them in February!!!

Profile pic - Rainbow Tower of the Hilton Hawaiian Village - Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

2012 - First Night spent in the US - Waikiki Beach, Honolulu

Spouse hung out here with celebrities from the movie The Fifth Element back when he moved to Hawaii

2016 - US Spousal Visa, via DCF, Manila, Philippines

....................................

PETITIONER (from NYC)

1999 - Got a place right down the street from this hotel - Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii

2007 - Visited Philippines on vacation

2008 - Got a condo in Makati, PH

We were transferred to Potomac and also asked for more evidence. We have until February to return the evidence request. We were told our tax papers don't look like they came from the irs. They didn't they are from TurboTax after we filed. They said our car insurance don't prove we drive the same car, our travel documents were said to only show we traveled and our bank info was not long enough to prove co-mingling as husband and wife. I am stressed to the max as we sent as much info we read and thought prove our marriage. Now I plan to send our bank statements for the open to now, our dl showing matching address, more pictures and transcripts from the irs website. Please give me more ideas of what to send. I would send utilities but they only show one of our names each.

We are in the same situation... from same service center... and my husband's Greencard extension is until March... we already have tickets  to travel in June. Scared we will have issues. We didnt have checkings together, just savings. That was an issue. Dont have descriptions on the 50 or more pics we sent them. One of our tax years didnt show up at IRS. Went to the company that did it and they had made a mistake and never sent 2016. I dont know what else to send to prove we are married. Its like how come they dont call us to interview to see if we are. I've sent them all I have . The only extra I can send is this last years taxes we filed together and  we leased a car under both out name this last year. Plus our insurance policy. That's all we can do extra. Would that be enough?

I would write a nice, but formal cover letter explaining your situation. Enclose the Tax transcripts for the last 2-3 years. If the company is willing to provide you with a letter admitting that they made a mistake and forgot to file the 2016 tax, it would help. Make sure the 2016 tax is filed and include a proof of that (you cannot e-file it, you have to mail it- include the receipt from the post office/carrier). Enclose the insurance policy, utility bills, joint credit cards, your joint car lease, your upcoming trip, old trips, pictures (include old and new pictures and make sure they are properly labeled). Anything you could think of that shows that you did things together and that your finances co-mingled.  Try to get 2-3 affidavits from people that know you as a couple well.

Good luck!

Yes, we have an apology letter that the tax preparing company saying that the mistake was theres. They sent the papers and we got our return check already. I will do all that. Thanks for the advice.

So I finally got through to Tier II. My case is languishing at Lees Summit, MO. I live in California and their local office is - according to the Tier II officer - set to ask for an interview. Um, what? I very gently pointed out that I live a long way from there. This point was noted by the officer.

Mine has also been there for about 130 days since been transferred; the last time I called the officer told me it looks like my case will be scheduled for a combo interview. Haven’t heard anything except that my N400 completion date keeps fluctuating.

Please, did the officer say the interview is expected to be at Lees Summit or at your California local office?

They said it would be at Lee's Summit - also a combo interview. I said this was an undue burden and the officer said they would look into it. They said I could get an I-551 stamp in my passport to extend my status but my local office doesn't accept appointments at the moment (massive backlog). So, either way, I'm probably better off traveling out of state to get this resolved.

N-400 has been steady at April 2020. Same officer said they saw the two cases together/linked so that's.. good I guess? I hope it gets transferred back to California because traveling across the country to Missouri would be a huge pain for my husband and I - he's become disabled since we married and now can't fly so easy. And it'd be one heck of a drive.

For the two of you (@bariki, @Eagleheadtransferred from WAC and are now stuck at Lee's Summit with a combo I-751 / N-400. What is your status for each of you on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?

My "current" status for each is.

I-751 WAC is stuck on Case transferred and a new office has jurisdiction.

N-400 IOE is stuck on Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS.

If we got through to Tier II would we be be able to just get an interview scheduled if we just accepted going to Lee Summit and just ate the extra cost instead of waiting for it to get to the local office?

I already posted about this in the N-400 NY thread, but also posting it here for I-751 filers.

I have an ongoing I-751 (priority date Sept 2018, Vermont), and an N-400 (Priority Date June 2019, Brooklyn Office).

After not hearing anything since the N-400 bio-metrics last year, my interview has now been scheduled for February. I'm presuming it will be a combo interview and will bring my wife to it, although I haven't received any notification that the I-751 has been transferred.

I'm assuming (hoping) it's been transferred, but I've had no updates since the Biometric review, so I don't know.

Also, the letter only mentions an N-400 interview.
