I have read all about the VSC having short processing time but for me this has not been the case... I received the NOA 1 on March 27 and one touch on April 4. Nothing since that time. Should I be worried?? Is this unusual?? :o

No reason to worry. Every case is different, touches mean nothing and processing times are simply averages.

Our case took 3 months until we were able to get approved. If VSC goes outside of this 3 months then you can call to inquire about your case. But as always every case is different. Usually Vermont is pretty quick but it just all depends on your case. I wish you both all the best on your journey, however don't worry I am sure everything will be just fine and you will get your NOA2 soon! God Bless. (F)

They aren't spoiled. And I can understand the panic when you fall outside the averages. OP - the averages are averages, but if it takes too much past the norm, you can call USCIS or your congressman and ask for help. They may not really be able to speed things up, but it doesn't hurt to call.

Hang in there.

Or someone spilled coffee on your file, or moved your file to the bottom of the pile on someone else's desk, or is using it as a coaster. Point is, touches don't meean your file is or is not progressing . . . some people NEVER get touched. It's not a good indication of forward movement at all.

p.s. do you all really think it is really necessary to beat up on a newbie with a legitimate question?

Sorry to the OP for adding my two cents on the VSC filer bashing.

Thank you TimsDaisy and KitKat for sticking up for us...and for the new member.

It makes it really hard toget any support on this site when we are treated like we have no right to be concerned over any step in the process. I have been fully prepared to wait it out like everyone else...I did not ASK to get sent to Vermont. My NOA2 was issued 5 days after it arrived. Was this because I have a rich Daddy? certainly not. Was it because I have received preferential treatment? guess again.

I can take a joke, but this VSC bashing is getting to be way over the top and downright rude. Comments like that are not funny, no matter how many stupid smileys you put on the post. Instead they just make me furious. I feel like I don't have a right to comment on any success or frustration on my case because some people can't tell the difference between reality and some childish 'us vs. them' mentality.

I do agree, it is premature for the original poster to worry. He is still very much within normal times. But wasn't that the question he asked?

Thanks for sharing your indignation, Crix. I feel the same way.

Before I even learned about the differences between filing centers for processing times, I already had it in my head from what I'd heard that it'd most likely be 6 to 9 months from filing to interview. Little did I know how fast Vermont processed petitions. And all along I've seen these digs at people who filed through Vermont, although the spoiled brat comment seemed to be the nastiest.

I also stupidly chose to share the fact that Vermont filers have a much more difficult road and wait during adjustment of status, and I was told by people filing through other centers that it was a dumb thing to say because nobody cares about how long AOS takes since their partner will be by their side and that's all they want. I don't buy it. I really don't see the difference in waiting one month or three to get your petition approved when you'll be spending the next 20 to 70 years of your life together as a married couple. I know my fiance isn't going to disappear in the meantime.

Had I filed through another center, I would have been prepared for at least a three month wait and wouldn't have had a freak out until those 90 days had come and gone.

What is anxiety producing is when your wait ends up being longer than the norm, no matter if the norm is 20 days or 120.
