Visa process at USEM is pretty straight forward.

Regarding the MNL#   http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/nvc-k-1.html

The visa process         http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html     (pay visa fee, schedule interview, complete medical, attend interview)

And don't forget CFO   http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/cfo-orientation-seminar.html

It is very straight forward and the toughest part I saw was from the Filipino pre-interview!  Answer his questions and be prepared.  Everybody was very professional but that filipino did not take any guff from the people at all.  He asked one lady if she needed an interpreter.  She answered in perfect English that she speaks Bisaya and not very much Tagalog.  He very directly reminded the woman that she was in the US Embassy and English is an acceptable language there.  She insisted that she was not comfortable with Tagalog.  The entire conversation was in English and that Filipino Embassy worker was not laughing as much as we were.  We went to him next and answered his questions and he actually joked with us.

Long story short, if you make it that far, just relax and make sure you have all the required paperwork and you will be fine.  It was a quick and easy process.  Be prepared.  Answer the questions honestly without adding information that is not asked for and that visa is practically in your hand.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Ya the Filipino pre-screen'er was fun, he has my wife very few questions, the two of us chatted mostly .. but then the same thing happened during the interview with the CO  later, in fact he almost forgot to give my wife the oath during the process.

Sorry, not recent (2013), but as others have said, straightforward and easy. Questions are usually routine..basically just verifying what they already know about you. I was, like Hank, there with Joan. Quick and professional. Don't worry about it!
