foreign spouse - is our app taking too long? no case # yet!

I'm an Indian-born US citizen. I recently got married in Aug of 2017 in India. My wife is an Indian citizen. 

 

I started out late with the I-130, and send the app in Oct - got Oct 10 2017 as the priority date. 

we got the NOA1 fast - in 2 weeks time in late Oct of 2017. 

 

But it took a really long time to get NOA2- our I-130 was finally approved on Apr 13 2018. We got the letter in the mail on Apr 19 2018. 

 

I called USCIS and they said the app was send over to NVC on May 1st. We do not have a case # yet. Is this unusual? As it's been 8 weeks since May 01. 

 

We're in the East coast, and I think our service center is Potomac. 

 

10 Oct 2017 - priority date

24 Oct 2017 - NOA 1

13 April 2018 - NOA2

01 May 2018 - case sent over to NVC

 

No case # yet as of June 27 2018?

"Really long time" Brother spare the adjectives for us... been almost 300 days still no i130 approval and you think yours took long....

Update: My case number was emailed on July 3rd. Completed the DS-261 form on that day itself.

03 July 2018 - case # was emailed with instructions on further steps

03 July 2018 - completed DS-261 -choice of agent and address

For me, it was 8 weeks from the time NVC received the case, not from when it was sent. Give it a few more weeks.

Dont panic, It will come shortly. I know it feels like a long time with no action, and its frustrating. Just relax and wait for the process. I went thru a very long period of time for all of the steps.
