Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time

Didn't have to call! IL arrived at 3:36 am, interview June 29th, at 7:30.  Hope there are many more to follow!

I think, IR/CR wait times will be reduced to a matter of hours, kinda like a drive thru... EB applicants, however, will continue telling tales of patience and how their journey was to Mordor... s

I think the fiscal year for USCIS/NVC ends in Sept, and the next year starts in Oct. So if this follows the same pattern as previous years, we'll all be current again at the beginning of October.

 

I don't know what that means for interviews. I.e. whether or not any of us will get an interview prior to October. Or, if they're going to wait to schedule until then. I guess we should find out this week if/when they send out IL's to any of us.

In terms of interview scheduling at NVC, my understanding is that if your PD is current at this moment, you are still in line for the next interview. However, your VISA won't be issued until Oct even if you pass the interview. Anyway, I think we might have already passed the window for August interviews since no one heard anything so far. If your PD is not current at the moment when NVC is scheduling interviews, then your case is skipped and the next CC with PD current will get your spot. Again, this is just my understanding as I was cruising on the internet while being concerned about retrogression.

Sorta... I'm petitioning my wife in a process called follow-to-join. I'm currently in the US and received my GC in the EB2 category last October. Follow-to-join allows me to bring my wife down via consular processing with the NVC, and she is given the same preference category and PD as me (EB2 - Aug 2017). 

 

This process is less common than others, so I'm not convinced everything is handled exactly the same as a standard EB2. But from what I can tell, she's basically going to be processed as an EB2, similar to everyone on this thread.

 

As for CC, ours is June 21.

Do you think NVC will start to schedule interviews for October in September or will they wait for the October visa Bulletin to be published?

I'm not sure. There were EB VISA issued in October so it's possible that they schedule in Sep. You can always call them to try to figure this out.
