Hi all, first time posting! I was DQ’d May 20th, 2022. Still waiting for my IL… anyone around that date with an IL? Seen any IL issued for May? Impatiently waiting..

You might be looking for IR/CR forum: Seems like it’s a 1-2 month waiting time from DQ to IL being issued these days so you’re not that far off if it’s IR/CR. This forum is an Employment Based forum where the wait is more than 2 years. Please see IR/CR forum and tracker below:

Thanks for the info and analysis @DrJh07 and @Blueeyes1989. Sometimes I wonder how the 101 E’s last month and 65 E’s this month (with the exception of Sorrell), manage to not come across/share info on this thread. Is the EB ocean that big?

Any way to get data on how many EB applicants are there in Canada? Buried in some other document, etc.?

Looking at the stats from this month and last month,  looks like they are prioritizing F3, F4 ( families of US citizens). This is never going to end and our turn is never going to come.

Really looking forward to results of the Mandamus filing by others... Although I doubt that would speed up anything.

Not necessarily, these Writs go to the Federal court system, not the immigration court, so at some point the US Attorney for the District of Columbia is gonna get fed up

Exactly, where did all these EB people come from? It's quite a statistical anomaly to have none in the forum getting IL...

I can think of two reasons why we are not seeing as much representation of EB on VJ:

1. There are just so many IR1/CR1 cases in Canada than any other immigrant visa class. Montreal has said as much, that IR1/CR1 are by far the large majority.

2. It is my understanding that most EB cases are not DIY and handled by one’s employer’s lawyer. I suspect the applicants reach out to the lawyer than come here on VJ.

Great analysis! EB seems to be following the path that FB category was on 9 months ago…

I wish I could have that data... Knowing how many applications there are in front my case would be better than this... At least I can get a sense how much longer I will have to wait

My only hope is March is an anomaly. Since March was the beginning of the pandemic, maybe there were more people applying for EB just before everything shut down.

@DrJh07I have an estimate that there are currently 1030 EB applicants waiting in line in Canada.

I reached this estimate, based on the fact that, before pandemic (that is 2019), Montreal was processing 72 EBs/month. If we assume that the demand is more or less same then based on the average in 2020 (22 EB/month), 2021 (34 EB/month) and 2022 (77 EB/month till June), the current backlog for EB stands at 1030.
