Has anyone gone though this CFO thing for k visa yet??... I'm seeing conflicting info and can't find a # to call and ask what documents she will need from me... I've seen places that say she will need nothing from me because the US is a visa required country and others say she will need all kinds of my info...

Yup and that’s what my fiancee will be doing once she received her visa.

Yep... Definitely understand... travel is no joke in the Philippines

It's a 9 hr bus ride for me to go a whole 250 miles and I get that joy every time Mt Mayon blows off and I can't fly .....

I was trying highlight it for the people who (know everything..about every country)  even though they don't even have there own visa yet.... someone is going to have a rude awakening when they get to the US...

You are right... and great at regurgitating information... but anyone that has any actual knowledge of the Philippines... knows it's a big thing to go from Davao to Cebu and back... (definitely two day proposition)...

Yes, I know I was right, and do have actual knowledge of the Philippines.

However that is an answer to what was said and not on people's personal situations of how they will handle their case. There are a lot of people who does these beforehand.

First off your in the wrong thread to be asking someone who is processing through Nigeria or Japan or even Germany about something that you need to complete for a visa in the Philippines that those folks are not required to complete in their country. Let's be more proactive and head on over to the sub-forum for the Philippines and ask your question there. There are many of us that are willing to help you.  Cost PRICELESS.

Second item, have you been to the CFO Website and read what is needed? Here are the links needed:

Manila/Cebu:  http://cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html

Registration:  http://cfo.gov.ph/images/forms/downloadable_forms/registrationform.pdf

Third item, and it will make your day bright. Use this website for everything you will need to get through every step of the way for a visa at USEM in the Philippines. The website is free and if you use it, and you have no dark secrets, then I guarantee you will pass.  http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

And if you return here and ask a question specific to the Philippine's process I will :girlwerewolf2xn:  ()

I hope I have been some help.

I believe for K1 it can be done, but they won't stamp at that moment, beneficiary will need to go and get it stamped after receiving the visa.

Your thought is on track but may I just explain a little more for others so they too understand.

CFO is an interview that will discuss with the applicants what "dangers" lurk in the US. Not only petty crime, abuse but also human trafficking. The Philippines is well know for this problem - human trafficking. CFO provides information with phone numbers to call if they are in an dangerous situation to ask for help.

The seminar is one day and requires certain documents, no need to go into the details but, I have included the links in my earlier posting. The passport is needed to place the certification of completion within the passport as it will be checked at immigration BEFORE leaving the Philippines. It's a national requirement. You can either take the seminar before you receive your visa and passport or wait till you receive your visa and passport back from the Embassy.

No problem glad to help. My fiancee lives in Davao City. CFO can’t be done untill you have your Visa on hand.

CFO can be completed without the visa. Anyone can go and take the seminar without the visa but you will receive a certificate and once you have your passport with visa you just return to any CFO location (no appointment necessary for this step) to have the certificate placed within the passport. If you go to CFO after you receive your passport with the visa then at that time they will install the certificate in the passport.

~~Post and related replies split off to a new thread and Moved to the Philippines forum. As mentioned above the CFO is very specific to the PI. When asking Country specific questions it's best to start a new thread in the proper forum. Rather then hijacking another thread that does not apply to your own questions.~~
