N400 interview tomorrow just cut my finger

Just cut my finger at dinner, have my interview tomorrow...

 

what does this mean? Will they do my finger prints again? Does it matter that there is a cut on one of them?

Don't be frantic...

It's not a grilling type of interview pretty laid back and friendly.

They took both my index fingerprints at the interview and took a picture ...its just to say this is the person we interviewed

Some offices does their signature on ipad or so as there might be no paper trail but so are still manual process being still practiced so you might not end up being finger printed at all. It depends if your file is already on the USCIS system updated like online filers or so. This is my observation only. Experts can chip in here...

There are just a few options of what might happen - no matter what happens, you have no control over your cut finger, so you might as well just prepare for the interview and hope for the best.

1. They might not take your fingerprints at all
2. They might take at least one fingerprint to confirm your identity at the interview but since they're just confirming they might take another finger.
3. They need your full fingerprints (or at least the one that's cut) and they'll have to reschedule the interview to after your finger heals. *I know this one is a worst case scenario, but as I say, you have no control over it, so it's not worth fretting about.

Fingerprints are taken at the Bio-metrics appointment, not the interview. At the interview your background checks should have already been processed. They will ask you your civic questions, English test and review all of your N400 questions. Don't stress about your finger spend time and study the questions in the book or on you-tube so you pass the test.  Otherwise good luck. I had what I thought was a squeekey clean application and did not get a decision for a month after my interview, so don't worry about any of it..... Just study and know the answers and spelling. My two index fingers were taken at interview..along with a photo so yes they can take them

And biometrics a month before.

They used the photo from biometrics on my certificate

Sorry! I had no intention of scaring anyone - some people on this thread did mention that a "confirmation fingerprint" was taken at the interview... so there is some possibility that OP would have had a fingerprint taken - although probably they'd be able to use a different finger than the injured one. 

 

Yes, the fingerprints are taken at biometrics, and that's the only time I've seen someone turned away for a finger injury. 

 

The point of my post was that there was no reason to worry since USCIS will do what they will do, and all we have control over is being as well prepared as possible. 

 

In either case, OP would have been to their interview by now. I just wanted to clarify that my post was in no way intended to make people worry more - quite the opposite!

Hey I totally second you on this. Yes I never had any fingerprints taken during my interview and also I never signed on Ipad but signed on my application that i submitted in paper. So some offices have been updated with software and hence for that software the identification at times matter and hence they will take finger prints depending and also signature on the ipad itself. So we are getting confused with manual vs digital here in my opinion. So those OP who claimed they did fingerscans during interview is due to that office being more advanced than others. Mine was in NY Queens field office and it was totally manual. It works out for all at the end.

 

Just be prepared for what ever the ISO asks you guys. my 2 cents
