Hi all,

I have a question about exact dates for the education and US visits section.

What should you do if you don’t remember the exact dates of when you started and ended high school or college?  Are they fine with an estimated date?

I ask because all of her university records got moved from her hometown to Hermosillo which would cause us to take an unexpected trip.

Also my spouse visited the USA only once as an adolescent from Nogales,Mexico to Nogales,AZ for one week in the 90’s.  Back then the visa laser card didn’t exist.

It was just a piece of paper that had a validity of six months.  I think it was called form 13.  My spouse remembers the month and year she got the paper visa and the month and year when she crossed.

Hi there :)

Can you request a transcript or maybe call the high school or university administrative offices? That would save you a trip. We entered an approximate for when my husband entered the country becuase he doesnt really remember "exacts."

Sorry I couldnt be of any more assistance. I would google the schools and try to call

I got the school part taken care of now.  Found out that approximate is fine.  The visa part we could not find either since she wasnt given a visa card but more a paper permission slip to be in the USA for a very short time.  Unfortunately we will have to use approximates for school and visa.

What I did was look at a calendar and made an educated guesstimate.

Thankfully my spouse located my mother in laws paper visa at the time which has the same exact dates at the entire family when they got their visas back in the day.  So we will base everything on when the mother was granted a visa and when the mother crossed into the states via landport since the entire family also was granted a visa and crossed all at the sametime.  Fewwww!  Dodged a bullet!

For other readers, just do the best you can on dates.
