Renew combo card

Finally I got my combo card after been waiting for almost 10 months and kept calling uscis. But it's gonna expired on September 15 this year. Do i have to pay for renew my combo card while my I-485 is pending?

What category was your initial application based on?  Did you have an additional fee to get the original card?

Renewal EAD. If this is a renewal application and you are applying under one of the following categories, a filing fee is
not required:
1. (a)(8) Citizen of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, or Palau;
2. (a)(10) Granted Withholding of Deportation;
3. (c)(l), (c)(4), or (c)(7) Dependent of certain foreign government, international organization, or NATO personnel; or
4. (c)(9) or (c)(16) Adjustment applicant who applied after July 30, 2007.

Based on family adjustment status. When I applied for that the fee include for EAD card and advent parole (combo card)

That is not what USCIS instructions says. You may have not read what I posted above.

Hi Friends,

 

After a long wait of nearly 150 days, my EAD+AP combo card arrived in the mail today. The date of filing all 3 (I-485, I-765 & I-131) were November 2017. I got the EAD card with a validity for 1 year (April 2018-April 2019). The Chicago office dates back to cases in 2015 and hence I am not sure with the ongoing delays happening, whether my Green Card interview would come up before the current EAD card expires or no. I would have to apply for an extension and hence had a few queries. Would appreciate if someone could help address them.

 

1. I understand the filing for an extension EAD is free if you have your I-485 ongoing, which link provides more information about it? (documents to be attached along etc etc)

2. SInce my EAD is valid till April 2018, when should I send across the application for EAD renewal? Does it have to be 180 days before expiration date? that would make it sometime around October 2018.

3. Would there be an automatic extension on the current EAD card or a new one is sent to us?

 

All this is only if there has been no update with my Green Card application. If that comes in time nothing like it. Thank you in advance and goodluck guys!

120 days before expiration date you can renew.
There will be an automatic extension on your current EAD if you submit a renewal.

Thank you so much for your response. Along with the forms (I-765,I-131 and other proof) is there a filing fee for the EAD renewal? or is it free since I have a I-485 AOS case pending with USCIS?

Free, include the AOS NOA that shows its pending.
