Hello everyone,

Would there be any issues if my fiance did his medical the day before his interview? I have read somewhere that the medical has an expiration date...is that true?

Thank you in advance !

Whether or not doing it one day before the interview is possible to have the results in hand for the interview varies by country. Many medical centers mail the results, which won't make it in a day. Some let you carry the results in a sealed envelope, in which case it is possible...assuming the medical results come back clean.

Is it wise to do it immediately before the interview? Probably not. Give yourself a buffer. Unless you are hard pressed on the expiration date of the visa (tied to the medical validity, which is typically 6 months), there's no immigration-related advantage in doing the medical so soon before the interview.

Do not, I repeat, do not schedule the medical for one day before the interview. You have to allow plenty of time for the medical results to be sent to the embassy.

If I'm not mistaken, it is a next day pick up of your medical results for K1/K2 in Ukraine.

Kiev is not that hard to get your interview scheduled. Usually it's the same/next week availability. Just wait until medical is done to make sure  there is no issues that could delay results and you'd have to cancel/reschedule your interview.

Also, your Fiance should bring form 0-86 (vaccination record) in for the medical exam - this record will be transferred to DS--3025 form (you'll need that for I-485 green card application). No record - no DS-3025 is given.

He can get 0-86 record from his physician.

Good luck! :)

Thank you ! So you mean that the 0-86 ( vaccination record ) can be done in his hometown ? Meaning he doesn't have to go to Kiev to get that done ? It's good to know that the availability for interview is that open, I thought it would take weeks to get one !!

You are welcome :)

Kiev has nothing to do  with your Fiance's vaccinations. A  physician (at the place your fiance lives) should have your Fiance's medical card with the record of vaccinations he has gotten since birth.
