Hi Guys,

Background: I requested EAD expedition over a month ago due to a job offer I got during Christmas (my Christmas present!!!). I requested EAD expedition ever since.

My potential employer finally gave me the ultimatum that I need to start to the job or I will lose it. They have been waiting for about 1.5 months, I thank them.

I have faxed my job offer a month ago and have been told to wait. I have contacted my congressman and the ombudsman. I have spoke to T2 officers and their supervisors.

I do not know what else I can do. Please advise.

(Due to the job, I have to move to a place that doubles my current rent. Now I am in the process of reversing everything I had done in the last month.)

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

My spouse just got off the phone and had a talk with a supervisor again and told them that I will lose the job if I cannot start in 10 days.

The supervisor kindly contacted National Benefit Center directly and urged that my case requires immediate attention. I might hear something back in 2 days.

Either way, this ultimatum is going to put me out of misery since Christmas.

Due to the volume of EAD's including expedite requests they are very backlogged. All you can do is keep following up and wait it out. Your situation seems to be a reoccurring theme on VJ right now.

When did you initially apply for your EAD? Or did you apply for an EAD and expedite at the same time?

EAD expedition was requested on Jan 2, 2018 (My job offer wax faxed on Jan 10 when I finally got the fax number)

WOW. I was always under the impression EAD's were approved within 4 months but it goes to show just how backlogged they are.

It makes you wonder if they even look at expedite requests.

Good luck in your quest. From my own experience I found being persistent pays off. If enough people get involved they may take action to get rid of you. ;)

Thank you! I will have to mentally prepare myself that I have lost the job and hope for the best.

I believe that I have bother everyone possible...

Hi Everyone,

1 day after not thinking about this, I just noted that there is another item under "Next Steps" in my case tracker.

It is

As of YYYYMMDD, your request to have your case expedited, referral number WKDXXXXXXXXXXXMSC, is currently not assigned for processing.

Is WKD some special code for the supervisor? Will this really be looked at by NBC in 2 days?

I have another T1DXXXXXXXXXXXXXXMSC still pending, which was due two days ago and it is still not looked at yet.

Thank you!!!

There is still hope?:unsure::yes:

I think the WKD is the code they use when the request is made by a tier 2 or maybe because is an important matter?

I had a WKD Service Request assigend whenever I kept calling USCIS and after 2 months of filing they couldn't even find my name on the system..

I recently tried expediting my EAD too and got assigned a T1 (since it was made through a Tier 1 officer?)

Good Luck!! I hope you dont loose that job offer!

Live, love, laugh.. and try not to think too much about USCIS

Thanks! I really hope this will lead to something as the supervisor said he has some special channel to  contact to NBC. Maybe this is it.

Today, both of those service requests were completed! They sent me responses, which I have not received.

I specifically requested to use email, asked the agent to repeat my email twice. Nope, nothing.

Not really anything exciting, but something has changed on my online tracker, and it is something...

Just don't know what it is...

wait a couple of hours.. if you still have no emails, CALL!!

Tier 1 should be able to tell you what the response says and if they sent it via email or mail..

I just called. None of T1, T2, and supervising officers can see what I claimed below. They do not see any record of the reply.
