Hello,

My husband is eligible for naturalization next month and we are working through the documents checklist. He was 31 when he entered the US, so are we to assume he didn't need to sign up for Selective Service and therefore does not need any sort of paperwork like Status of Information, etc.?

Read the instructions.  This is all very clearly explained.

Do you really think your response is helpful? Looking at the history of your comments on VisaJourney, you seem to have a habit of sarcasm and being unhelpful in general. People come on VisaJourney for assistance on things that are--in most cases--"clearly explained" because some people actually don't think it is. That's why they ask. Save your sarcasm. Thanks.

On the other side, it's very clear. Reformulating, or giving an opinion on what's clearly written in the instructions might bring confusion - we see it all the time.

Exactly--which is why I'm asking. No one has yet to answer my question, but rather, to tell me that it's clear. But it's not clear to me--which is--again, why I'm asking. Why is it so hard for some people on VJ to just be helpful? That's what I do when I respond to posts. I don't criticize the person asking.

Sorry, can you copy paste which part is not clear then? Because the question is "Are you a male who lived in the United States at any time between your 18th and 26th birthdays?" - you answer no... There's nothing else to say, add, provide, bring, copy or anything.  :-|

Please let us know what is confusing to you.

Yeah, I got the part where he doesn't have to sign up for Selective Service because he's over 26 since he entered the country. What I initially asked is, then, is there ANY sort of paperwork that must be provided about this (since it seems he would not need Status of Information). Obviously his birth certificate would prove age, I'm just asking is there anything else needed. That's what I asked in my first post.

Thanks for reviewing my entire posting history. Time well spent, without a doubt.  Next time, you may want to invest that time and effort in reviewing the filing instructions, which happen to be crystal clear on your "issue."
