My husband and I were married last June and submitted our paperwork on June 16th (PD June 28th).  It took a really long time to get our EAD, and I just noticed that our case wasn't switched to "ready to schedule an interview" until March 8th.  Does USCIS go strictly off our priority date, or does the "ready to schedule" an interview date mean that we weren't put in the queue until March?

At least we're together, in the same country, for this part of the process!

Looks like a flurry of updates over here!  My husband's case was also marked as 'Ready for Interview' yesterday; this was after an NOA1 of March 19th for his AOS case (EAD was also approved yesterday).

Funnily enough, there's a good chance we'll be transferring offices before we ever get an interview here in MSP - right now, I'm interviewing for jobs many states away!

Based on the experiences I have read, if you ask them to reschedule, your file will go to the bottom of the pile which means waiting for several months again. It is wise to try to get it done the first time, if you are able to.

the interview day is usually 5-7 weeks away from when you get the notice so you should be safe. you can ask a friend/neighbor to open that letter for you maybe? if it's within a few weeks, you could consider cutting your vacation short too.

July 7th

Hi we got the email notification last week ( August 23) that the interview was scheduled and we will be receiving the letter. I am still waiting for the letter but the lawyer we hired to help us file the whole thing called us saying she also got a notification saying my interview is for October 1.

I hope that helps.
