Hey everyone!

We are about to submit all our supporting docs to the NVC. I've made a list of everything we're including. If anyone could take a look and let me know if it looks like anything is missing/wrong that would be amazing. Thank you!

1. Copy of beneficiary's passport

2. Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate

3. Copy of marriage certifcate

4. Copy of police certificate

5. Signed affidavit of support from petitioner (i-134)
- Copy of U.S passport

- Letter of employment stating nature of work & wage
- Bank statements from past year with all incoming work payments highlighted (as wage varies - self employed).

- Tax returns for the past 3 years (or should I do IRS transcripts???)

- Proof of money in savings account

6. Signed affidavit of support of co-sponsor (i-134)

- Copy of US passport

- Letter of employment stating nature of work & wage

- Last 3 pay stubs

- Tax returns for past 3 years (or transcripts?)

- W2 form

Thank you so much! :D

Good thing you noticed.  Also you dont need a copy of the petitioners passport.

Tax return transcripts are better and less paperwork than tax returns.

Since you have a joint sponsor you also really do not need any banking evidence.

So for NVC a birth certificate AND marriage license is needed even tho they already have it from the first step the form I-130???

Yes, they ask for documents that have been submitted before. This is what I included in mine...

IV PACKET:

NVC Bar Coded Cover Letter

Biographical Data of Beneficiary's Passport

Beneficiary's Birth Certificate with Translation

Marriage Certificate with Translation

Police Certificate with Translation

Military Record with Translation

AOS PACKET:

NVC Bar Coded Cover Letter

My I-864

My Tax Exemption for 2016 (been living abroad with husband, if you have been in US and working, disregard this. If in US and NOT working, submit Tax Exemption Affidavit which can be typed by yourself explaining why you did not file taxes and sign it)

My Joint Sponsor's 2016 Taxes along with W2 and Pay Stubs

Joint Sponsor's Employment Letter (Not needed but it definitely helps)

Joint Sponsor's Biographical Data of Passport

Domicile Proof (This is ONLY for people who have filed and are living with spouse abroad. It is a statement declaring intent to re-establish a domicile within the US. Otherwise, disregard this.)

My biographical data of Passport

My Birth Certificate.

I made a replica of each packet for myself. Which means one IV and AOS Packet I sent to NVC, one IV Packet and AOS Packet I kept for myself.

Once organized, I wrote my case number (NVC Case Number) on EVERY paper/document so in case they misplace it, they can easily place back within my case file.

Hope this helps.

It's the marriage certificate they want (both NVC and USCIS), marriage license is useless.

How long have you been abroad? If it's been a few months, don't worry about that.

If a year or more, you can travel back to US and open a bank account or get your voters registration card. Or show you have a car there.

I didn't travel back to the states as I couldn't so all i sent was a letter of intent (which I type myself stating I plan on returning and living in the US, printed and signed ) I sent my car insurance policy which has my name, car information and my address. And I went online to see my voters registration information and printed that to show the address has remained the same for the past years and the same as on my application for US address.

Please Follow the list I provided. That is what is needed. If you need clarification, do let me know.

Provide the marriage certificate.

NVC asks for documents even if you have submitted them to USCIS before.

As the US citizen you have to show your intent to move back home. My wife and I are in a similar situation and are currently in the US gathering evidence to show intent.

Oh so I could just send a copy of my license and my bank account statement to show that I am planning to return to USA.

Yes, I'd also add a letter of intent to re-establish domicile just to add on to the proof.

What kind of letter is that ?

It is just a letter you type. For example:

To Whom It May Concern,

(NVC)

I, ______________________, hereby state and declare that I intend to re-establish my domicile within the US. I have sent the following documents stating that _______________________. My plans once I am in the US with my spouse are _________________________________.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

(Name)

Once you type this you can attach the documents to it. For me, I attached my voter's registration information I attained online, my car insurance policy that I am still paying in the US which shows I own a car in the states and my current address matching the one in the petition.

That is all I had. Hence why I typed the letter as well
