k-1 Processing time/How many days is the shortly?

I came to MN on May 25th 2017 from Japan with K-1, fiance VISA.  I married on June 13th 2017.  They received my I-485, I-131, I-765 on June 19th 2017.  I went to get done Biometric on August 2nd.  I got my insurance, Minnesota Care as a wife of American citizen from August.  I was kicked off of my insurance because I don't have my SSN.  I didn't know I should have SSN to have my insurance.  My K-1 VISA is expired August 22nd.  I changed my last name on my passport, so my expired VISA is attached my VOID old passport.  We were so busy to have our wedding in October and some important stuff for my husband.  I feel so shame.  I should have done better job.  Now I have to wait I-765, EAD to come.  I sent e Request on October 30th.  I finally got an email saying You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly on December 8th.  How many days is the shortly?  I need my insurance back and I want to start practicing driving again.  Do you think sending documents, I-485, 765, 131 together is making things delayed?  I want to feel American freedom.

You should contact your congressman and ask them to do an inquiri for you. Your EAD is out of processing time. 

Sending the documents together would not delay your application. 

I hope you get your EAD soon so you can apply for your SSN and DL. Good luck!

First of all, you're posting in the wrong forum. You need to be asking these questions in the AOS (Adjustment of Status) forum - I'll ask the moderators to move it.

 

Yeah, it's unfortunate that you didn't know you could have applied for a SSN while your I-94 was still valid (remember, the K1 is a single use visa so it expired the moment you crossed the border) - now you may have to wait it out (I didn't do AOS so again I'm not sure of the procedure)

 

Probably once you're in the AOS forum you'll get more detailed help!

@nightingalejules is correct. You will now have to wait it out  (to get the social security number). So some things may be put on hold  (like getting a driver's license). However, health insurance is not tied to a social security number. You need to call the insurance company and explain the situation..they can re-establish your insurance on your husband's policy.... (my knowledge about this comes from arguing with the insurance companies for the last two weeks regarding putting my fiance/husband to be this Monday... on my insurance)

We called so many times and also come down to the office twice.   But the last day of coverage, a woman working at the HR said she is working there 18 years but their, state insurance policy never changed, if you don't have SSN, they cannot provide.  They could tell us at the first or first time come down there before my VISA expires or my insurance out of order.  It seems like they don't know what they are doing and they are irresponsible to me.

You should also apply for an ITIN number for taxes otherwise you'll run into more headaches come tax season. The insurance company might accept an ITIN number ???

Thank you for the suggestion.  We all didn't know ITIN.  I am going to call them tomorrow!  Thank you again!
