Beer tastes disgusting, but when your taste buds are gone I guess it doesn't matter :-D

What kind of beer are you talking about?  There are a lot of very tasty beers out there now.  I tend to like the ales, but my wife likes the stouts.  We don’t drink a lot of beer, but it can be tasty occasionally.

Maybe because legalisation of marijuana is relatively new? Most people grew up with alcohol, meaning its something they are used to being around. Parents having a glass of wine during dinner or a beer at the end of the day. Very common, less scary...
I can imagine that the same way the legislators think, not saying it makes sense, but I can imagine that's what they think now. Who knows if they will change their minds in the future.

The problem with treating the addiction is that it can only succeed if the addict acknowledges he has a problem and is willing to work on resolving it. From what I have seen ( not backed by any scientific proof or research ) most addicts don't follow through. They quit or fall back into the addiction.

I agree that the campaign is kinda lame, but for some reason, I have never forgotten about the slogan.

i grew up with plenty of friends who had parents that smoked a joint every night before bed. just saying, i don't know of any other prescribed substance that prohibits a person from owning a gun. seems like a rule added in to keep people in jail for using marijuana..

and that's the nature of addiction. instead of spending so much money incarcerating people for their addictions, that money should go into addiction research. find more effective ways to keep addicts from relapse.

believe me, if you went to us public schools in the 80s, there's no way to forget it! lol

Just curious, is your locality discussing safe injection sites?  I often listen to a radio station out of Seattle, and this is a pretty big topic in that area.

no way. no where close. way too progressive a thought. big cities though, they really need safe injection sites and needle programs for the public safety of all residents so it's a good thing if heavily populated areas have them. it isn't just about keeping the user safe.

Heineken, I tried once...never ever again. I don't drink much, but I'm more of a wine/cocktail girl.

Hey! That's the symbol of Dutch national pride lol.

It took me quite a while to even appreciate wine, I guess I'm not that big of a drinker. Once in awhile my husband and I throw a private drinking Pina colada's party.

i'm kidding. in a pinch i would drink heineken over most other beers (not guinness though). my job requires me to be a alcohol snob, in my defense. i'm surrounded by the good stuff.

Wow

I grew up on c 4%, 4.5% was a Special and not a session beer.

Here 6% is normal but the high altitude has an impact, short measures sort of compensate.

You're forgiven :-D

I don't like Heineken anyway ( did I mention that already?) and most likely won't taste any other beer. I'm just curious what job requires to be an alcohol snob lol. I can see how your days starts off: here smilesammich, try this new bottle of whateverisbrewed.

Sounds like fun though.

I like a nice G&T occasionally, the wife is more into wine on occasion.  We like to mix it up.

Wow, something we can agree on!  We have a local brewery that makes a seasonal called Hopslam, it is great!  They also make a very tasty double IPA called Mars.  Drinking one of this is like drinking two glasses of wine.

I just had a nice IPA called “Heck Have No Fury” but the first word is slightly different.  It is very hoppy with a hint of chocolate which initially I didn’t think I would like, but it is actually pretty good.
