Two questions about the Nvc phase

My husband and I had his civil documents (birth certificate and bio page of passport) translated in January. Do translations need to be more current or should that be fine?

 

Does the Affidavit of Support require tax transcripts and tax returns or just tax transcripts?  I have the transcripts, but do not have the returns from the last three years.  I can order them, but they are kind of expensive, so if the returns are not needed, then I will not. Any advice?

Translations of civil documents do not expire / only the criminal investigation report has to be current

ours was dated for 90 days / not sure in Tunisia but they do assume even when investigation is clear, it is always possible something can happen in last days to affect it

as for I 864 when i did it, it said last 3 years of tax transcripts form IRS (free just walk in IRS office and ask for them) / I did send copies of W2 with them / they also accept letter from employer with dates start dates of work to present with wages

Tax transcripts alone are sufficient, nothing else (including W2's) are needed.

Tax RETURN transcripts, not any of the other various transcripts available from the IRS.

 

You didn't need either of the documents you mentioned to be translated and don't need the police report translated either unless they are NOT in the local language where the interview takes place.  (If interviewing in Spain, French documents would need to be translated.)  However, if the marriage certificate is in any language other than or not including English, IT would need translation.  China, is an exception, where even police reports need translation by an official Chinese Notarial Office.
