Consulate Review: Tunisia
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 13, 2018
Embassy Review : I went really early to the embassy i went to security they told me that i should come a little before 9 so stayed in a coffee until then.
I went through security until i got inside the consular section i was really nervous all the time i was even the last one to be called, first they called my name to a window where I talked to a Tunisian man who took my papers by the way here in Tunisia we don’t get only a marriage certificate from the city hall we also should take an integral marriage certificate so don’t forget that they will ask for it so many applicants where told to bring it translated okay so i gave all my papers he said it’s good then told me to sit down until they call me,probably 15 minuets then i got called to a window with a young female consular she was really nice to me but not easy with her questions so first question was (tell me about your relationship ? ) i mean that question needs an essay ma’am hh so i responded honestly then she asked if my wife was married before or if i were? Then i offered the chat logs and messages around 200 hundreds pages she saw them then our packet that includes boarding passes of my wife visits and our boarding passes and tickets to marroco when we went for our one year celebration, then i offered our pics album that contains 100 pictures from different visits and marriage ceremony it also contains a pic of my wife tattoo in her wrist she liked it a lot i mentioned that i am getting one too then she asked me if there’s any good places for doing tattoos in Tunisia i responded then i kept showing her the pictures, i think i probably made it to 20 or 25 pictures then she said it’s enough, i thought there’s a problem or something, she went away then came back with a paper about my rights in the usa then a pink slip paper saying to come back on Wednesday to pick up my visa.
My experience was good people in the embassy are nice and respecting, my advice is to have everything ready (civil documents , pictures, proofs) good luck and be honest
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
