The Associated Press reports that people who have spoken to Trump say that he has recently revisited the idea of trying to remove Mueller, now that Mueller appears to be digging into Trump’s finances. Meanwhile, CNN reports that former Trump strategist Stephen K. Bannon is privately urging Trump to try to get Republicans to defund Mueller’s probe.

Monday night, Sean Hannity delivered perhaps the most perfect expression yet of efforts to create the rationale for such moves. Hannity dismissed the news of major allegations against Trump’s campaign chair Paul Manafort and the cooperation adviser George Papadopoulos as big nothingburgers. He also hit all the high points of the new Trump/media campaign, points that Trump himself and the White House have made repeatedly in public statements. Those include reviving the made-up scandal that Hillary Clinton approved a deal for a Russian nuclear agency to gain access to U.S. uranium extraction rights in exchange for kickbacks, and the absurdly exaggerated claim that the Clinton campaign, having paid through various intermediaries for research that ultimately led to the “Steele Dossier,” actually colluded with Russia to interfere in the election. These have been extensively fact checked and debunked.

I don't know, we have had three, what info do you have?

Wasn't one from a few months ago?  It does seems a little over zealous for the prosecutors though, prosecuting a law that has not seen a court room since 1964 and generally only being punished with a slap on the wrist and a fine.  But of course this is a Trump associate so $10 million in bail is appropriate since there must be some dead bodies laying somewhere.  Opps, sorry, I confused Manafort with Hillary, my bad.

I just read the WP's "debunking" of the Clinton-Dossier issue (which they link to in the article you provided, but here it is https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/10/29/the-dossier-and-the-uranium-deal-a-guide-to-the-latest-allegations/?tid=a_inl&utm_term=.c6eb0387e19c)

They have quite a bit of information there, but I won't go so far as to say that the idea that Clinton "colluded" with people to hurt Trump's campaign is fully debunked. That doesn't mean I think she colluded with "Russia", I just think it's somewhere in the middle. As far as I can tell for me there are a couple of important distinctions/thoughts:

1. When people say "Colluded with Russia" it is my impression that people are thinking of the Russian government. There is no evidence to my knowledge that CLinton, or the people she hired, were working with Russian government agents with a joint purpose of hurting Trump's campaign. There is no evidence that the Russian government cooperated with Clinton on that. There may have been sources in the Kremlin, but they were individuals and did not appear to reflect the opinion/plan of the Kremlin as a whole. That is different to what is being claimed about Trump (Not saying he is guilty, but he is still under investigation). For the Trump campaign the concern is that they actually were cooperating with the Russian government in order to help Trump get elected.

2. I honestly don't know how many steps removed something has to be for someone to legally be okay in these circumstances. This would apply to both Trump and Clinton. I also don't know how I feel just morally depending on how many steps removed they are. It is very possible that Clinton herself didn't know people hired Fusion, and even more possible that they didn't know Fusion hired Steele and EVEN MORE possible that they didn't know Steele was intending to use Russian contacts. So from Clinton that could be as many as 4 steps, or more, removed. Again I just don't know what that means legally, and haven't gone to a consensus myself as to what it means ethically. The same could be applied to Trump. If there was collusion with the Russian government, did Trump know? How many steps removed as he? To me it would seem like the more steps in between the less likely these high powered figures were involved, but that is only a rough estimate.

I don't understand how opposition research, that was never used, is slotted under collusion. This is research that should have been done on the Trump campaign on its own candidate.
