Hi everyone,

I filed for my AOS, EAD/AP in early June and got receipts in the mail with an NOA date of June 26th. On July 20th I went to my biometrics appointment and since then nothing has happened. I've been following along on the visajourney processing times and saw that they were taking longer than 90 days to process cases so I didn't file an inquiry until 110 days from my NOA (October 18th). I got a confirmation saying that I would get a response on October 30th...it is now October 30th and nothing.  It is now 126 days since my NOA date and I'm beginning to worry about making it for Christmas to see my family. Has anyone else had experience waiting this long? What should I do now? Should I make another inquiry? Is there a number I can call? I can see that some users with NOA dates later than mine have already received their cards and it's making me incredibly anxious and depressed.

If you have a written job offer call them tomorrow and request an expedite with the job offer based on financial hardship if you
have some evidence of financial hardship (recent loans, bills etc).

I don't have a written job offer. To be honest my main concern is going back to see my family for Christmas. I just see so many users that have waited less than 90 days for their cards and I still don't even have an update on my case and it's now day 126. It just doesn't seem very normal :(

Have your senator make an inquiry on your behalf. It currently takes 4-5 month processing time.

Hello,

I also filed my AOS paperwork in mid June and haven’t heard anything.  Like you, I am hoping to return home to Canada at Christmas for a week to see my family.   I did call at the end of September, as my aunt had passed away to see if I could get any status update and all they said is they were working on April 1 paperwork.   There are so many questions about what “April 1” means so I am not sure it is helpful or not.   They gave us some options for trying to get home for the funeral, but we opted to wait and just have our fingers crossed.   I hope you get an answer, and would be curious to know if you do.

Best of luck

My husband is in the same boat but we are on day 152. We are on service request number 2 now... first 1 went full 30 days with no updates and we have contacted our local congressman. It has been a full week since we got them involved and there is still no movement.

We are trying to schedule an info pass appointment but the website currently seems bugged.... at a loss of what else we can do.

My husband does have a job offer, but the company doesn't put them in writing (to my knowledge we will double check as it is a national chain store). They asked him to go for drug testing. Is he able to complete that step without EAD in hand?

I'm really sorry for the both of you. This is such a crappy situation to be in. I feel a bit better knowing they haven't lost my paperwork or something, but this is incredibly stressful having to wait this long. I just got my local congressman involved yesterday and I'm hoping they are able to do something. I hope your cases get resolved soon.

In my local Baltimore forum. Someone wanted to expedite there AP to allow for travel. I don't know what exactly this entailed but I know they made an Infopass appointment and were successful in expediting their AP.  I would imagine you should be getting your EAD soon. We are early/mid July filers (Biometrics the first week of August) and just received our EAD/AP last week. It seems every day more and more June/July filers are receiving their cards! Good luck!

UPDATE: My EAD and AP were finally approved after 144 days!  I got my notice in the mail today with the date 11/17/2017. I had made 2 inquiries with no response and finally contacted my congressperson on November 1st. By November 10th there was no word so I asked if there had been an update and they emailed me back on November 13th to say that they asked for my case to be expedited and NBC said I would be hearing back shortly. According to my NOA it was approved 4 days later. Not sure if that was a coincidence or not, but I am over the moon!

Sorry to hear that! Have you tried contacting your congressman? I think that's the only reason my case has been approved. I didn't have a job offer or real reason to leave the country, like a death in the family. I just told them how long it had been and that I was eager to start working and to see my family. Hope you are approved soon!

So I'm guessing your online status never changed? Seems to be an increasingly common trend.

Nope my case status never changed after getting my first NOA. I now have my card in hand and I just checked and my case status is still not updated online.
