PD : 8.21.17

On Oct 16th my online status has changed from "case in line for interview" to "On September 13, 2017, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization
We will send you an interview notice.
Please follow any instructions in the notice".

Im worried. When will I possibly receive this letter?

 HELP PLEASE !

That's the status you get when they are still scheduling an actual date for you.

When the case status changes to include the wording "read the letter we mailed"....then you know that your actual date has been chosen and your hardcopy letter should arrive in the mail within 7-10 business days after that.

You should expect an interview letter within 2 to maybe max 3 weeks from October 16th. If you dont, talk to a Level 2 officer at USCIS and request him to fax one. Mails can get lost/misplaced. So keep an eye on your mailbox.

What is your Field Office ?

If you are August Filers then simple check July-June Filers to see if they have familiar cases then you can probably "guess" your date.

Case is is line for an interview status is updated differently per application, so I believe it simple says, hey we reviewed your Biometric and it is fine.

@Holt, there are a couple September filers who have been in line for more than a month now. Do you suggest they call CS and ask for a L2 officer to know what's up?

Check the USCIS normal processing time to see if their cases fell outside. September Filers usually will not finish their journey this year since N400 process takes about 5-6 months to complete. Very rare applicants will finish less than 5 months, but it is possible.

However, my Biometric was on 3/3 and I was put in line on 3/20. Until 8/14, my interview was scheduled.

Not true, you are in line for scheduling, your appt can take weeks or months to schedule based on your field office.  Once your status changes to interview has been scheduled, then you will receive letter in the mail or in PDF in your account.

Not true, you are in line for scheduling, your appt can take weeks or months to schedule based on your field office.  Once your status changes to interview has been scheduled, then you will receive letter in the mail or in PDF in your account.

Yes correct. But looking at the OP's original message, it suggests that his case was in line for interview and then it got moved to interview date getting scheduled.

The wording changed in the system, what he wrote is still in line for interview.  It will change to Interview has been scheduled, not we started the scheduling process.

we discussed this change of wording in the August 2017 filers page.
