I am glad you are feeling better Stina. This process is very stressful - me? I used to get about 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day now I sleep 3 or 4 hours every two days... swing from high to low and low to high. I even had a fight with Paul the day before... so I know what stress can do. The good thing is you are with Keith and he will be that anchor you need to get you through this. Apart from that we are here. I will pm you my MSN, ICQ & Yahoo IDs... am more often on MSN & ICQ - also Skype... seeing that I sleep so little I can be reached at virtually any time. Lots of love and hugs. Hang in there... you will get through this too... (F)

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

Hi Stina, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better and getting some rest. I've had anxiety attacks on and off for years. They started when I was with my ex (extremely stressful situation lol). The very first one scared me so much because I had never even heard of an anxiety attack back then, that I ended up in the ER. I was taking ativan when it got too bad. After I left my ex, they all but virtually disappeared. But recently with all the stress of immigration, raising the kids by myself until Lee and I are together permanently and starting a new job, I've had some reoccurences. It seems to be showing up at bedtime and I can't fall or stay asleep because of the pressure and burning sensation in my chest and the heart racing thing. Hopefully they will calm down soon but it is a very scarey feeling even now all these years later. So you have alot of us here that can totally relate and are here for you anytime you need us. I think because you've undergone soooo many changes lately with immigration and the transition of moving from all that was familiar its not a wonder you are feeling it. But as you get used to your new life, I think things will settle down, including the anxiety you are feeling. My best wishes and thoughts are with you :luv:

Stina, it's so great that your Doc gave you the all clear...we assumed he more than likely would, but you never know and I'm sure it gives you some peace of mind to know you are ok. Glad to hear you've been sleeping a bit better too...that always helps! I've been a bit of an insomniac lately myself..sometimes 2am sometimes 4/4:30!! Grrrr!!! Hopefully I'll settle soon. After Craig goes next Wed. I'll probably go upstairs sooner(he's sleeping now so I can't go up there with him when it's dark to do this...)and read a book..almost always puts me to sleep sooner. ANYWAYYY(sorry about my tangent! I WAS talking about YOU! ;) ) Really glad things are looking up with your anxiety attacks at least..they're scary hey? (even tho they can't really DO anything!)

Also..amazing that your Doc didn't charge you for this visit. To be perfectly honest, I've never heard of a doctor doing that!!! WOW! He should get a pat on the back for sure! The only time I've had free service like that was when I was pregnant with my son and went to the clinic to get tested(and found out I was) and then once in a while if I have a really minor problem I'm wondering about I go to the County Nurse at our courthouse and she doesn't charge either. (I stepped on a rock while tubing last summer and got a bad gash in my foot..she looked at it for me and gave me crutches to use..that was nice!)

Happy for you...sleep well with no anxiety!! :) :) :) Michelle (F)

This process can make your body do some strange things. :( like Peggy said. I would make an appointment to see a doctor and maybe get some medications. I am sorry your dealing with all this stress and having problems. Hope you can relax and get some rest later today. Take care of yourself and hugs.

I have sometimes replied to an old thread and felt like an idiot afterwards for not noticing.
