One Day More... One Day Less... One Day Closer :jest:

So at least things are looking up.  One of the Police Clearances have been delivered to the Embassy and the other should be there tomorrow.  Which will give them 2 and a half weeks to finish it up and get the Visa to her.  Then she should be leaving to fly here for POE on 12/11.  I can't wait.

So happy for you my friend. Glad things are moving. It's been way too long of a wait for you!

Thank you everyone who wished me good luck and who have asked how it went!
My POE was yesterday at Raleigh-Durham international airport in North Carolina. I landed at around 2pm and by 15:30 Collin had picked me up and we were on our way! It was a very smooth POE, the staff were super friendly and joked around with me a lot. I joined the 'all visas' line were I waited for around 30-40 minutes. Once I got to the front, the officer asked me for my passport, packet and asked me about Collin and where we are going to live. He turned to the officer behind him and asked where K1s needed to be processed before sending me downstairs into a small waiting room. I waited for 10 mins max when I was called into an interview type room. A few questions later and I was on my way :)

Congratulations! :jest: It must feel surreal! Meeting him at the airport, packing up in your very own apartment. Can't wait until I'm in that moment too. A huge good luck to the both of you! (And let me know if you come up with any interesting ideas on how to pass the time while awaiting the EAD - I would truly appreciate it ;))

Depending on the field you are working in you might look at any US specific certificate programs. I know that Rashmi plans to do some certificate work for Human Resource stuff that is US specific that she is missing.

VOH!! I can't believe it! It was just delivered to my work. I never got a text or e-mail to say it was on it's way so I got a bit of a shock!

Wow that's amazing!  I hope that happens for us! We were quite bummed when we didn't get an email or anything from the courier today! Sam is officially not allowed to leave home!

Hey April filers. A May filer here who got their NOA2 last week. Wondering if  anyone could help me out here regarding NVC case number:

Can we pay the MRV fee once we receive our new case number from NVC or do we wait until they send the case to the US embassy in our country and they email us it's ready, to pay the fee?

You're absolutely right :) there is actually a US specific certification for the line of work I'm in at the moment, and I'd not even thought about it because it's not just credits taken, it's heavily weighed on work experience as well so usually the employer will enroll you in a program that spans over years. But it doesn't mean I might not be able to find a way to do some of those credits outside of an employment, so I will look into that for sure. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! It certainly still feels sureal right now. We are busy setting up the apartment and enjoying our time off together for thanksgiving.

Quick update: I went to the social security office yesterday to get a SSN. The guy there was super friendly, I had all the documents I needed, he was pushing for it to go through. But unfortunately it was too early and he said I couldnt get one yet :(. He said to try again in 10 days. That really sucks because here in NC i'll need that to get a drivers license. Not to mention it makes it so much easier to open an account. Sigh. At least im here :) thankful for that.
