I forwarded our K1 visa application to Vermont service center on 23rd March 2007 but I have bot received an acknowledgement of the receipt of my application from the service center. I am worried about this and I would like someone to help me out on what to do because it is almost 30 days now.

thank you

You can check with your bank to see if your check cleared. If it hasn't, you can call USCIS customer service at 800.375.5283 to find out if they have it. They only give you information if it has been more than 30 days.

If your check has been cashed you can also ask for them to send you the NOA1. They some times don't send them out, I filed over 2 months ago and I still haven't received it.

CR-1

02/05/07 - I-130 sent to NSC

05/03/07 - NOA2

09/27/07 - Interview, visa granted

10/02/07 - POE

08/14/09 - Biometrics

Also, some people never actually receive the NOA1 in the mail for some reason. If you can verify your check was cashed and see an image of it, there should be a case number stamped on the front of back.

It's not to soon to get the terminology down. You filed a K1 petition. If it is approved, your fiance can then file a visa application with the appropriate Embassy or Consulate. The I-129F is not a visa application.

Hi,

easy way to check is to look to see if your check was cashed.

Did you send the package recorded delivery? Then at least you will get a receipt of when it was receieved etc.

Hope things work out

David

Keep copies of everything you do, send etc.

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

Just check to see if the check has been cashed. I sent mine on the 27th of March and my check was cashed on the 4th of April. I received the NOA1 on April 7th. No touches since though

Thank you all for the swift reply.

My fiancee paid the I129F pettition application fee by money order and not check. Please how do we track this method of payment to confirm if ####### was received at Vermont service center.

Ouch. I doubt you can get a copy of the cashed money order but perhaps. Otherwise, you are limited to any available tracking or delivery confirmation from the package sent. If that is not available, I see no choice left but to wait for the NOA1. You could call USCIS to see if they have the petition but I'm not confident you'll get any confirmation.

Such important papers should be mailed by a trackable method.

If you have sent payment by money order and kept the stub or carbon copy that is normally with the money order...you can call the toll free number on the stub and tell them the number of your money order and they can look the info up to see if it was cashed. Good Luck
