Hi guys!

Everything looks quiet here. I am wondering if anyone has done their interview recently?  My service office is in CT and the website says they're working currently in files of February 1st. So long wait for me (August filer). I would love to hear good news from you. I am also wondering if the interview is gonna be hard or what should I prepare (documents) for it?

I got my green card, which is great! But the bad news is that they gave me the wrong type of green card. I ended up with a 10 year IR1 card, and had to get an info pass appointment to confirm that this was inaccurate (keeping it would have potentially put me out of status when I applied for citizenship, and gotten me in huge trouble) and update my file. So I have to send that one back and wait for a new one... which will take "several months". Highly annoying, as it was a USCIS error and it would make sense to me that they would expedite the production of the new card. But oh well - I'm used to waiting by now!

01/18/17 - I-129F mailed to Lewisville, TX

01/25/17 - NOA1

05/05/17 - NOA2 (100 days from NOA1)

05/19/17 - NVC received and case number assigned

05/26/17 - Case left NVC, status 'In Transit'

05/30/17 - Medical

05/31/17 - Consulate received

07/13/17 - Interview, APPROVED!

07/21/17 - Visa in hand

07/22/17 - POE Newark, successful

08/02/17 - Married

08/23/17 - AOS filed (incl. EAD and AP)

08/31/17 - NOA1 date on AOS packet

09/21/17 - Biometrics appt

10/16/17 - Online tracker says 'Ready for Interview'

11/09/17 - EAD and AP approved

11/16/17 - EAD/AP combo card arrived

12/19/17 - Green card interview

12/22/17 - RFE received (medical had been lost)

It should be a 2 year conditional card. Then you go through the process (more paperwork!) of filing to remove the conditions after 18-20 months. There's a very specific timeframe in which you have to file that, and you can't do it too early or too late. I'd recommend reading up on that on here, as it's potentially a little confusing if you're blindsided by it! At THAT point, once removal of conditions is done, you should get a 10 year unconditional card. Then you can go for naturalization as the next step if you choose to.

I've got my Interview coming up on Thursday! Field office is Milwaukee. I was an August filer also. Regarding documents they send you a letter type checklist stating what they want however of you can get your hands on things which aren't date relevant such as joint bank accounts, joint health insurance accounts, joint rental agreements etc that should help you as you will need those. Also prepare pictures of the two of you together and conversations but this can wait till closer the time. They also requested birth certificates, our passports or id's, children's birth certificates, police records if you've ever been you arrested or charger and then the standard stuff (Affidavit and tax information if not already submitted).

It was extremely short. He asked me to confirm my Name, address and mother and fathers names. Then asked if I've ever been arrested or been part of a criminal investigation. Asked for copies of our daughters birth certificate, rental agreement, Marraige certificate and bank statement and then said it was an easy case for him and to expect my greencard in the mail between 2 weeks and two months.

Hey there! My NOA1 date is Aug 17 and I'm getting a little worried because I haven't gotten my appointment yet. Thankfully, I did get my combo card. When it comes to the appointment, the last update I had was the status "ready to be scheduled" dated Sep 20, 2017. Btw, my office is New Orleans. I haven't seen anyone here with the same office yet so I'm not sure if it's normal to wait for this long. Does anyone know how long it takes on average to get the interview date? Maybe there's someone here who went through the same office as me? Even though I got the EAD, I still can't do anything since I live in a small town in Louisiana where I need to drive everywhere and w/o a green card in louisiana you can't even get the driver's license...

Why cant you get your drivers license on your EAD? I dont even have a EAD and I got my drivers license here.

Wait, are you from Louisiana? The thing is it's different from state to state and here I was told that I can't get my license w/o having a green card...
