You have access your online account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ then you can see the past status. The link above mentioned for case status link.

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ is the link for online filers. Paper filers only get the one you mentioned.

That is correct. Online filers just log into their accounts to see their progress, download PDFs of appointment letters, etc.

Only a very select few aren't eligible to file online, so the "have everyone go to online filing" thing has pretty much already happened. And there are a lot of factors that go into timelines. I don't know what to tell you. It's like having two people in the car and choosing to not move into the HOV lanes.

It is up to USCIS to inform people or encourage people to file on line if it is more efficient and could result in faster interview dates. But like I've said countless times on this site at this point, there's no good reason to NOT file online (unless you're ineligible). It certainly isn't going to make the process SLOWER. 

Not only it isn't going to make it slower, you could jump way ahead of people who filed on paper by 60 percent, it does make a huge difference. I would have applied on line because if i did, I could have at least had a chance of getting a super fast interview date. It does vary from office to office, but it is a fact that filing online in general is faster(whether it is right or wrong or fair or unfair). I have said it myself on this forum, it is unfair for paper filers if they filed before the online filers and the online filers jump get their dates in 2 or 3 months and the paper filers have to wait for 8 to 9 months. It is unfair given that situation, then USCIS should just encourage people to apply on line so this notion of "We will process applications in order which they were received" will remain. The online filing is supposed to make it easy for USCIS to receive applications electronically, it should not generate a super fast interview dates and cuts the paper files ahead by so many months.  The reality is we do know it does make a HUGE difference by about 60 percent in some cases. Once again, people will feel less frustrated if you "understand" the unfairness of it, but you seem to keep suggesting there is nothing unfair about it, but it is unfair in many cases, it should be understandable that paper filers feeling unfair about it, but i can't change your mind if you think it is totally fair(it obviously is not), my heart goes out to many paper filers who feel the same way i do.

in Chicago, online filers who file two to three months behind me got their interviews while I still have three more months to wait. That is unfair.
