Hi there. I'm waiting on a 601 waiver received April 2017. Any idea of what/when I should expect for a decision? Also, if my waiver is approved, what is the next step? Thanks!

Hi!  Looks like they are taking 1 year and 2 months+ currently.  Ours was received December 21, 2016 and we are still waiting.  I'm not sure what is next if waiver is approved...reading some other replies it looks like you may need to do some documents over again like Police Report, etc and make an appointment at Embassy which could take another few weeks.  Anyone else have experience for when waiver is approved what steps are next?  Thanks!

Thanks for your response. So I guess that means you should be getting your response any day now. Please let us know when you get it!

It seems the average wait time is 14 to 15 months but every case is different. Once approved, USCIS will send the approval to your consulate and the consulate will then contact you. If it does take more than a year then another interview is needed, if not, then they may just ask for you to send your passport and they will approve the Visa.  Also, if it takes more than 6 months, another medical and updated documents will be needed. I applied for my waiver and it was received on Nov.28th 2016 and I haven't received my response yet. Tick tock! Good luck!

It took our i601 waiver 1 year 2 months and 2 days. Theres a USCIS App that you can check upto 50 cases submitted the same day and similar to yours. As soon as i saw others waivers being RFE I knew we were close. We were approved without RFE.

Hello,  can you please advise where on the app it shows you this? I only see my case and it just gives me the same info as the US IS site does.

If you open the app there's a menu bar that slides, slide it to the left to where it says near-by, enter your receipt number I think it should start with LIN, and choose next 50 and it will analyze 50 similar cases

Sorry last question... Did you get an update from the app before you received your approval letter in the mail? Just saw 2 cases updated with the same date as mine but for example my LIN # ends with 6560 and theres were 6562 and 6563, so I'm thinking maybe mine was already checked but not updated yet?

New update out today 01/29/2018.....

States that as of November 30, 2017 the were working on cases submitted on November 02, 2016.

From this USCIS processing time update, and the latest approval notice received on January 12, 2018 by a VJ member who submitted her I-601 on November 14, 2016 it looks like they are only moving at 2weeks intervals per month of processing at the moment.

So if my analysis/calculations are correct, those who submitted their I-601 waiver application between November 15, 2016 and November 30, 2016 should be receiving their approval notices in the mail between now and February 15, 2018.

I Have been waiting two years to get my husbands visa. I Was pregnant and hoping the same that he would get it before the baby came. He didn't, she is 1 1/2 years old now. He still hasn't gotten it. We filed a I 601 in November of 2016, we have been waiting 11 months now with no word. The waiver is being processed at the Nebraska service center. I Tried to get an expedite and was told they don't do expedites for I 601 waivers.

I just wondering if you heard something from them? my waiver I601 is from dec 15 2016 and I'm still waiting, please let me know if you hear something, it is really hard :( I'm so frustraed and anxious. Thank you for your comments.

My waiver is from Nov 28th 2016 and I have not received anything yet! According to the VJ statistics it does seem that I will hear from them soon. I will let everyone know once I do. If you scroll up! Franco gives some great info that will give you a better idea of when you will hear something.

Hello everyone. My I 601 received date is April 2017. Although I am not that close to the date I have a question related to post approval phase of the journey. My first interview was denied in Dec 2016. I carried two types of Police Certificates - 1) One for the country that I am currently living in (India) and one was for - 2) United Kingdom. I was in UK for an year in 2008-2009. I spent a lot for retrieving my Police Clearance from UK. After being denied and asked to apply for I 601 I have never been to any country for more than a week. Do I still have to appear the Consulate with the latest PCC from UK after I-601  approval?
