Just wanted to post in case anyone is interested. We received an 18 month extension letter today (Aug 2017 filers, GC expired Nov 2017). Was just planning on trying to get an info-pass to get an extension because of upcoming international travel. Such a long process...

I have lurked on this website for years. Thank you all for your help with your posts! Just wanted to say that I filed my I-751 in late Aug 2017 and just got the 18 month extension letter from CSC. This looks like it will take a while. Thank you all for your posts. I have learned a lot and it has helped me not get too concerned about delays.

We received the extension letter too! Just in time since we had infopass appt scheduled for tomorrow. Our new extension letter is dated from August 11 but we were traveling the last week and just got in today so it must have come in some time last week. Thank goodness. Now we’ll continue to wait as usual but this is a huge relief.

So I called USCIS because I did not receive the extention letter. The representative said something strange. He said the case will be transferred to local office. That's how it goes for removing of conditions cases. It starts from Vermont and then it goes to the local office , and then you get an approval.  Our NOA date is 8/10/17

There is no update whatsoever on our case. It just says case was received.  The last time it was updated was 8/14/17. Should I be worried or is it normal. I asked the rep and he said everything is good in your case .

Also please if someone can answer this question for me, we have FNU as my first name on the green card and the full (last and first ) on the  Last name . But when i filled out the original application for I -751 , I put my name as it  should be( as it appears on Birth Certificate ). The rep said I will receive the new card with the correct name. Can this be a problem that we are not hearing anything from USCIS. I was planning to correct my name when I do the naturalization. Pls help

June 2013: Met whilst working at a summer camp in Michigan 

K1

November 1st 2014: I-129f submitted for K1 visa

February 24th 2015: Visa in hand!

February 26th 2015: POE at Las Vegas airport, then onwards to Oregon! 

March 6th 2015: Marriage (with a "real" wedding to follow next year on 7/6/2016)

March 9th 2015: AOS, EAD & AP submitted

September 22nd 2015: Interview

January 14th 2016: Two year Green card received -phew!

ROC

August 8th 2017: 90 day window begins! ROC time!

September 28th 2017: Biometric Appointment in Portland, OR

March 5th 2018: Case received by local office

August 18th 2018: 18 month extension letter mailed

December 2018: Case moved to another office

February 2019: I was emailed that I was approved and my card was in production the same day of my N400 interview 😂

August 8th 2018: Window opens to submit naturalization application

August 13th 2018: N400 Application submitted online 

August 14th 2018: NOA1

September 6th 2018: Biometrics

February 6th 2019: Interview Date! APPROVED!

February 6th 2019: I was asked to return later the same day for my Oath Ceremony! :dance:

Still have not received a extension letter :( and when I called to inquire about our case being at the local office they told me processing times for local offices is 39 months 😵 Do we have to get a extension through a info pass appointment? What happens if you don't?

Nothing happens if you don’t. You just won’t be able to travel outside the US or get new employment.
