I believe it's only considered a true "affidavit" if you get it notarized, otherwise it's just a letter of support. We did include two signed letters of support, one from my husband's relative and the other from my best friend. We did not get them notarized though.

We did not include them in ours as you mentioned they don't put much emphasis on them.  Hopefully the officer who examines your evidence likes them and it will work for you.  But, if you have enough sound evidence showing proof you are true couple they are a waste of time.  We felt we had enough evidence....close to 3 inches and that was keeping things at minimum, so we excluded them.  We did sent about 15 pieces of evidence proving we were a sound couple socially with family, friends, with trip evidence on top of financial evidence.  We were supposed to file in June as well but got busy playing around...gathering stuff for our package became least of our priorities.

Package mailed USPS on July 5, arrived today July 7th.  Guess they'll be cashing the cheque tomorrow. :)........let the games begin!

We are sending our packet in today. I did not include affidavits since we have a lot of supporting evidence both financially and have joint property owned. Wish us luck!

I just checked USPS tracking and our package arrived at the Laguna Niguel post office, delivery updated to arrive on Tuesday to USCIS PO Box.

Question regarding 90 days.

 

Instructions for Form I-751 says:  "you must file it during the 90-day period
immediately before your conditional residence expires."

 

I understand how to count days, and there is even a handy-dandy calculator provided by USCIS.

But, has anyone ever raised the question about the exact meaning of 'file.'  ?

 

File could mean the date you sign, the date you put in mail, the date received by USCIS, etc.

 

Sure this may not be a 'live or die' situation or question, and I know many wise A$$ES will just say . . . wait for a couple of days past the first authorized date and mail the stupid thing.

 

Opinions will abound . . .  but . . . has anyone checked this out ??

File anytime after your 90 days window open, I did mine on the exact date that the 90 day window opened up, I signed it on the exact date the 90 day window opened. Once you sign it its up to when you want to send it out to UCSIS.

You may want to update your timeline on VJ. I just looked at yours and the timeline is not updated. You should not be on IR1, mrs thb

on 7/30 u can file meaning send out your I751 packet to USCIS. Any sooner your petition maybe rejected so you are safe on Filing anytime after 7/30/2017

Thanks kindly for the reminder, zeta.  Keeping your timeline is optional.  I'm not as efficient as you, I'll do it when I have spare time.
