Muslims are my friends, neighbours, coworkers who are peace-loving and contribute to society just like everyone else. Muslims just celebrated Eid al-Fitr which includes charity to the poor and needy.

 

ISIS may see themselves as muslims, but they aren't. They are just ignorant and delusional. They believe they are doing this for the cause of Islam but they are doing it for no cause at all. I agree they need to be put down, and I gladly will laugh when I read that they blow each other up. I wouldn't call them muslims though, just like I wouldn't call Hitler a Christian. It's offensive to the religion to be associated with insane deprived individuals.

As I mentioned in another thread, ISIS is no different than the IRA, except that they call their religion something else, and neither group is really following any religion.

 

I think people here just like to equate terrorism with Islam for trolling purposes. Gives them something to hate during their breaks.

Unfortunately equating ISIS with Islam is far more widespread than just here. ISIS is it's own thing and it needs to be wiped off the face of the earth.

Saying ISIS aren't Muslims doesn't mean there isn't a connection. That is very basic thinking.

 

The connection is that ISIS are irrationally and incorrectly attributing their beliefs to Islam, just like people in the past have irrationally and incorrectly attributed their violent ideologies to other religions including Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism and prety much every other major religion.

 

The religion itself isn't bad just because some crazy people think that what they are doing is in the "name of God". It just makes those people more insane and delusional.
