I've noticed that on many of your posts you are providing a lot of incorrect information. People are interested in facts and not invalid opinions.

If you are unsure about something, then do not post incorrect information.

Right.  Everyone is here because we are desperate and hopeful.  So all we want are the facts, good or bad.

Well I don't know were you get that 1500 cedis from or the last time you did medicals in Akai house. As it stands now phy lab and chest x-ray is 1,030.00 and passport pics is 8.00 and they will subtract your vaccinations that are not expire and give you those which are expired and the one that is not expired is only 1. No body pays 1500 cedis at it stands now for reaffirmed medicals.

So if the medical fee $1030 or $1500?

Congratulations on your reaffirmation.  I see that others have answered most of your questions, but I can shed some light on how long you will probably have to wait, even though your file is on its way back to Ghana.

My husband's file was reaffirmed in December 2016.   It didn't reach Ghana (or at least was not logged in there) until March 2017.  It was then touch in April 2017, but he still hadn't heard about a second interview date.  I was advised from this site to send an email to the embassy.

I sent an email and surprisingly it was answered the same day. That was shocking enough.  I was told to have my husband come in and pick up his packet on any Wednesday at 7:30am.

He did that, and now has his second interview date for early August 2017.

Not to be a downer, but I doubt your husband will just get the visa.  I'm pretty sure he is going to have to go through another interview.

Hope this info helps.

Thank you! So there is a "Packet" step BEFORE the interview? Is this a common step?  I always like to ask to make sure things aren't independent to just one person, but it happens to all.  If you don't mind me asking, whats in that packet?  Did you have to supply all those documents you front-loaded AGAIN, or will they even ask for that?

Precisely.

We want facts, whether they are good or bad.

However, we do not want opinions, even if they sound good.

Please read well and don't get yourself mixed up with this fee thing. What I am saying is wen you are taking your reaffirmed medicals at Akai house this is what you should expect.. Physical lab and x-ray is 1030.00 cedis. Passport pictures is 8.00 cedis. And they will now calculate what vaccinations you are to retake. And am saying that it cost in total close to 2000 cedis. It might not be exactly 2000 But close because they calculate their medical fee according to the dollar rate in cedis. So wen the cedis is dropping that means you will find yourself paying more And if the cedis is stable then you will have a better deal there. I don't know of holy trinity. Those with holy trinity experience can put it out for the benefit of all.

Yes, as far as I know, every case that has been reaffirmed and is waiting to be scheduled for another interview will have a packet, that the applicant (person in Ghana) will go and pick up from the embassy.  As I mentioned, with my husband, I had emailed in inquiring about this packet, because I knew that others in his situation had already been called (on the phone in Ghana) to come and pick it up, but my husband hadn't).

What is in the packet:  Basically all the same information that was in the original checklist of what to submit to the embassy.  Originals of birth certificates, divorce decrees, police report, medical, etc.  Proof of relationship, proof of any joint ownership, all evidence to substantiate the relationship.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I didn't answer one part of your question.  We are preparing all the documents (again), many the same as were front loaded for the first interview.  The difference is that my husband is bringing them with him to the interview.  They are not being sent in before hand.  As far as I know, there is no way to do so, but if someone knows different, please let me know.

Please help...

We were denied, reaffirmed, and now our case is on its way back to US Embassy in Accra Ghana...

My questions are:

will we have to repay all those fees (i.e visa application)

will we have to redo medical records & translation

will we have to redo police records & translations

will we have to redo court records & translations

Or better yest, what should we expect?  How long of a wait do we have?  How likely is it that they will just give my husband his visa?  Or will he have to interview again?

**update**

On CEAC site our status has moved from Expiring Soon to Administrative Processing as of June 5th.

How long will we sit in AP?

Should I start calling the embassy in Ghana now?
