My friend and her family (husband and two kids) were given the form on Feb 2017 after the interview. Their visa issued this year in February, almost 1 year for AP :(  They have dual citizenship and live in Australia.

1 year!!! OMG... that's a long time... are you sure about that ?! because the form was approved in May 2017. so in Feb 2017 as per my info, it wasnt there yet.

Maybe I'm wrong about the form, but their security check took 1 yr. Isn't the purpose of the form to have more checks on the case? So if they have not been given the form, still they were required to go through the process.

Hi,

We both are in the same boat. It's possible our parents crossed paths at the embassy as well.

My parents, over 60, had an interview for their immigration visa at Islamabad on 3rd January as well. Despite the fact that all of the documents were meticulously submitted ahead of time, they were still given a white slip and their passports were kept. I received the request to fill DS-5535 on the 9th for my dad only, which was submitted right away. Since then, I have seen updates on his case almost everyday, except for a couple of days without any activity. My mom's case was updated only once, which was 23rd. Just like you, and everyone else on this forum, I have no idea what is going on or how long would it take. I sent an inquiry for my mom a few days back and got a response that the case is under AP.  I was thinking we were the only one's who were going through this (particularly for parents immigration) and was starting to get concerned. At this point, it is all prayers and positive hopes. Please keep us updated! I will keep everyone informed about the progress as well.

Have you got any response from embassy?

Hello everyone , I’ve been reading through your comments and I am in the same situation .

So basically,I had an interview Monday the 26th of February at the US embassy in Beirut and after my interview I was told those exact words by the interviewer “everything looks good all I need from you is to send an e-mail to this following address ‪BeirutNiv@state.gov‬ and ask for a supplemental form and then once you fill it submit back online and come and we will print your visa”
The day after my interview they sent me the supplemental form ( DS 5535 form) and asked me to fill it and send it back which I did .
However, It has been over a week now that i haven’t heard back from them and it’s very frustrating . I’ve already had a tourist visa and been several times to the US . I was supposed to leave to Los Angeles tomorrow .

Did anyone in Lebanon got their visa after submitting this form ?

Is your tourist visa still valid?

If so you could technically come for a short period of time. However I asked about visiting with a current valid tourist visa while in AP and the officer didn't recommend it as the border agent might think you are going to stay...

He also agreed that staying wouldn't make much sense but you still could get turned back.

October 2011: Met in Spain

2012-2014: Video chat + visas + visits and vacations = we made it through!

June 2014: Moved to Spain, got engaged

December 31, 2015: got married

April 20, 2016: sent I130 package

May 2, 2016: package received in Chicago Lockbox - - - 12 days for delivery!! Don't use TNT couriers!!

May 2nd or 5th, 2016: email NOA1... accepted and sent to.... NEBRASKA

And now.... breeeeeeathe..... be like water my friend....

October 26th, 2016: NOA2 [We had waited almost 6 months. Received notification from the phone app, never got an email.]

November 9th 2016: USCIS sent the petition to NVC (app notification) [waited 2 weeks after approval for this]

November 25th 2016: NVC received and created account for our petition [waited 16 days after USCIS sent it, for NVC to acknowledge receipt]

Dec 1st 2016: Chose agent online DS261 [a few days later than it could've been since the above NVC email went to SPAM!]

Dec 6th 2016: Case available for paying fees. That was fast, I think! 5 days!

Took a long time to get package out because... life... and husband's family in Morocco had to travel to get police document.

Feb 20th 2017: Scan date at NVC, received weird email.

April 28th 2017: CHECKLIST. Moroccans are required to send a Court Report regardless of Police Record status. My husband had to go back to Morocco to get it in person. Also, NVC wants a 2016 tax return now that is 2017. My bad.

September 15th 2017: 2nd Scan Date at NVC. Sent for document review October 20th.

Nov 10th 2017: Email requesting document be brought to interview. Will schedule interview.

Case complete date??: TBD :clock:.... November 8th!!

Interview date : January 18, 2018!!           Result: Administrative Processing

Embassy called for new medical last week of August. New Medical Sept 10.

Visa ISSUED September 14, 2018.

I would advise against that. The odds of being turned down at port of entry are high, and I think it would potentially cause further delays with regards to the immigrant visa. Not worth the money and bureaucratic quagmire in my opinion.

Also @SabrinaJerome do you really think the social media handles are sent to Washington? I was kind of hoping they check them at the consulates...  oh man... The backlog must be huge,  since they're giving the questionnaire to the whole world... :(
