Comments : He is home! Humdelilah. What have we learned through this process?: 1) Believe in your relationship regardless of what anyone tells you, regardless of the B.S. that the consulate feeds you or the games they play with you. 2) DoNotGiveUp! We have fought for years (K1 started in 2012) to get him home. 3) Align yourself with people who have a lot of experience with your consulate and your visa type. 4) Keep updated on current events where immigration is concerned 5) When your case is outside processing times seek an attorney with a lot of experience in how to move that timeline along. My advice for anyone in love - your chances of approval are far better as a married couple. I wish I knew that from the beginning. K-1 visas expire, but marriage visas don’t. Regardless of who wants to be at your wedding, plan to have one at each place, but get married and THEN apply. Most importantly don’t let the process or agencies intimidate you so much that you give up. Don’t let them make you feel like you are a bad person for wanting to be with your love.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
