With his London tweets Trump embarrasses himself-and America-yet again

The stoic determination and decency of the British people and their leaders were on full display in the hours after the latest horrific terrorist rampage. The Brits fought back, launching drinking glasses and chairs at the savages who attacked them. The police acted with lightning-fast precision, killing the three assailants within eight minutes of the emergency call. And, God Bless him, a man returned to the bar where he experienced Saturday’s horror — to pay his bill and tip. Civilization is not going to be driven out of Britain by three or three hundred killers.

Meanwhile — and it pains me to write this — our president acted like a clod, a heartless and dull-witted thug in sending out a series of tweets. He — commander in chief and leader of the Free World — first retweeted an unverified, unofficial Drudge headline about the unfolding terrorist attack. Then he aimed to bolster his Muslim travel ban (which is not supposed to be a Muslim travel ban). “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough,” he tweeted. “We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!” (Aside from the inappropriateness of President Trump’s tweet, he fails to grasp that the courts in these cases are reaffirming the our rights against an overreaching, discriminatory edict.)

I don't know why people take anything seriously Trump tweets anymore anyways.  To me, they are as empty as his empathy.  And I'm sure I'm not the only one who approaches them as such.

But they are successful in playing to his core...the dozens who rallied at the Pittsburgh not Paris rally for instance...hahaha!  No more pc!!!

ABC News correspondent Jon Karl said: “There is some discussion among the President’s aides about possibly taking a trip to London at the end of the week to show solidarity with the people of London against terrorism.”

He added the discussion was in the “infancy stage” and claimed it was aimed at deflecting attention from the recent dismissal of former FBI director James Comey while the US intelligence agency was investigating the President and his team’s alleged links to Russia.

I'm not up in arms about what he said.  I simply stated that I could care less what he tweeted.  His tweets are about as meaningful as the cereal crumb on my floor.  I suppose if I had respect for the guy, whether or not I agreed with him, then I might react more one way or the other to what he tweets.  But here we have a 13 year old tweeting knee-jerk personal attacks at women, comedians, judges and U.S. military vets based on their heritage, accusing Obama of wiretapping him, blaming fake news for everything that goes wrong, contradicting his own advisors, and failing to edit his own undisciplined rabble.

 

No, he lost that respect long ago.
