Dear all VJ friends,

 

     My K1 visa issued on May25, and got my K1 visa package from Cosulate this afternoon.

     the expiration date is Jun8, visa officer told me i must need arrive in US before Jun.8,

   

     I don't understand why my visa only have about 15days since issued date???

Makes sense...if you had your medical way back in January. The visa validity period is quite often erroneously said that it's valid for 6 months from issue date, when in reality it's actually 6 months from your MEDICAL date.

No problem. Looks like you'll have to pack up in the next 7 days if you want to use that visa — quite stressful, but I hope you can do it. Good luck!

I've reserved the ticket, 6 days later.

I want to take 2 months prescription meds, need apply for customs?

or just with a doctor‘s prescription?

Bring the prescription, and ensure you declare the medication upon POE. As long as you declare it, you should be fine as long as it's not illegal drugs.

I brought a year of medication without anything it just had my name on it and was never asked anything. If you can bring a bit more I would if I were you.

I was wondering about that. My doctor gave me a year's refill of my prescription just so I wouldn't have to worry about it when I am in the states for a long while. 

 

Why did you do your medical so early @Kkpdl
