The quote I saw was current and former administration officials.  When I see former, it makes me wonder who is talking?  But from what I heard, the NSA was notified that the intel was shared, and then the press got their story.  Maybe Reuters considers the NSA as part of the WH which technically is probably correct.  President Trump does have a leak issue, and he would do good at plugging it as soon as possible.

He can stop part of his leaking problem by not tweeting

Wasn't everyone saying the same thing during the campaign?  Seemed to weather those storms.  Of course the onslaught is more intense now, and I for one do have respect that he did what he did even under this intense pressure of the biased media.  He is in a no win situation as they could care less about any actual successes, and will just keep digging to get him out.  They might get lucky and get their wish with three plus years of President Pence.

I'm just glad a President is finally calling out the media. I seriously doubt a President Pence would, nor a VP Ryan.

not sure if "blurt it out" is actually what happened, but intel sharing does happen - see the falklands war for an example.
whether he had consent to do so from the originator is unknown, along with it being unknown how this

event will affect future intel sharing.
