I wonder if he will get this one right?

Former President Barack Obama couldn’t swing America’s last election in his favor, but now he’s jumping into France’s anyway.

Obama on Thursday endorsed centrist French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron in a video in which he nonetheless vowed to keep quiet about most other elections.

“I’m not planning to get involved in many elections now that I don’t have to run for office again,” Obama said in a video posted on Macron’s Twitter account.

“But the French election is very important to the future of France and the values we care so much about. Because the success of France matters to the entire world.”

we already know who trump wants, who cares what obummer thinks. who does hillary like? ^_^

looks like trump's fly-and-lie-by-the-seat-of-your-pants style of politics doesn't go over too well in france..

I thought it was interesting.  President Obama has made endorsements, and some say meddled, in several high profile elections and he does not have a great track record (Netanyahu, Brexit, Hillary, etc.).  This one may be different as his candidate Macron is leading by a fairly wide margin in polls.

i think potus trump diarrhea of the mouth trumps any current perceived 'meddling' by obama. especially now, obama's just a overpaid public speaker now.

macron won the debate last night too. looks like france is a bit smarter than us..

Most importantly, can France get this one right?

Macron's chances far supersede Trump's. Of course, like a lot of people, I was wrong about Trump's chances come Election Day, but there are a ton of lefties in France, that would have to completely disregard their leftist views to vote for Le Pen, whereas in the US the lefties can't win without moderates and independents. While I hope Le Pen wins, I already know the chances are pretty damn slim.

So the left complains about alleged (unproven) foreign involvement in our election while at the same time their former leader gets involved in foreign elections. Typical hypocracy of the left.

Any mailbox hacked? Any Wilkis leaked? Do you have any rebuttal that string together "typical" and "left"?

Why does there need to be hacking? The suggestion here is not hacking, but interference and involvement by foreign influence.. something that clearly disturbs the left, even if they keep moving the goalposts wider and wider in their ever-changing language. There is no doubt Obama is exercising his influence over foreign elections. Trump has too by putting his word out for Le Pen.

Hacking is what the left claimed of Russia on the US elections. (and still have yet to prove these allegations)

As far as I know , Obama is no longer a government official and is free to speak just as you and I. I think Trump is in a different position as the head of the US government...he even hedged a bit on LePen if I remember, he doest want to back a loser.

The hacking is not a claim of the left, it is a statement of fact by all the US intelligence agencies.  The open questions are what did they want?, did Americans coordinate? Can we stop them in the future?

He was a government official when he tried to influence Brexit. Even now that he is out of office he is still a high profile foreigner trying to influence the election. My assertion that the left is hypocritical on this issue still stands.

you do not see a distinction between opinions and endorsements versus espionage and infiltration?
