I'm DESPERATE for help! Invitation letter not received!

Yes, the telephones are teeeeerrible. We did manage to get through at one point but they were no help. 

 

Our interview was scheduled just like the K-1 visa applicants because we had an approved medical expedite. I went through the same process as other K-1's instead of the CR-1's. I was waiting for the same "invitation letter" as you!

Thank you so much.  So, you think by May 22 they should have it ready at the consulate?  Our file was received by them on April 5.  The interview is on May 24.

Heck yes. My interview was three weeks after CEAC said "Ready." They will definitely have it.

 

Just go to the consulate and tell the guard you need a paper printed from the information window. They will let you pass, then go up there and say (with a smile), "hello, good sir/madam! My interview is tomorrow and my P4 letter never arrived. Can you please print me a copy?" and hand them a copy of your DS-260 confirmation letter. 

 

P.S. everyone at the consulate was very nice and friendly and we had a GREAT experience. Stay positive!

Well, I was there a few months ago. All I can tell you is, there is no need to get desperate. It seems  that the consulate in Ciudad Juarez does things a little bit different than other consulates. First of all, if you have NOA1 and NOA2 you are good to go, If you could  make the appointment online that means your case is there. You should have done two different appointments, one for the biometrics and one for the actual interview. There is no package 3 or 4 for Mexico, at least there wasnt for me, and when I called the consulate to ask for that, they told me that they dont send anything.

My husband only recieved 4 notifications: NOA1, NOA2, a notification from the National Visa Centre (NVC) stating that our case was in the consulate in Ciudad Juarez and finally the invitation you are refering to. What the invitation says is that you should download the instructions you already posted and follow the procedure. It is important to check where the medical exam should be done. I am from Mexico City, we made an apointment for the medical exam and the biometrics in the consulate at Mexico City and the clinic that is there, we just went to Ciudad Juarez for my actual interview a week after that. If your fiance lives in any other state, you have to do everything in Ciudad Juarez, so plan for a few days there. Many people do no recieve the invitation, my husband did, but if by any chance you do not get in in the mail, just go to the consulate at least a few days before the inerview and ask for it. Many people have done it before and if you have your NOA1, NOA2 and letter from the NVC you should be fine.

I hope you can help me with some info about the medical and biometrics in Mexico City.

 

I heard they require you the letter (packet 3/invite letter) to go inside their buildings. Is that true? Or they never asked for it?.. I am waiting for that letter. Which I assume will never arrive due to Mexico's awful system.  But my fiancé will surely receive his copy.

 

Can I use his copy? Or does it have to be necessarily the one addressed to me ( beneficiary )

 

Also, I already filled the DS-160 and saved, I haven't signed it.  What should I do next?  I want to get over with this process before May 15th

That is true, but you dont need to have the original letter. What my husband and I did was very simple, once he got the letter in San Diego he scanned it and emailed it to me. I went to my apointments in Mexico City with a printed scan of it and had no issues at all. We went one week after that to Ciudad juarez together and had the original, actually they keep it when you go inside. I dont know what you can do if you dont get the letter. Call the consulate, they might be able to help you better.

My advise - do not wait longer than necessary.

 

You can schedule your appointments without the invitation letter. If it has not arrived, don't panic and just plan accordingly and arrive 1 day earlier (closer to morning) in CDJ. Show up at the consulate and go to the information window (last time my wife went their hours were 7am-1pm) and simply ask for a copy of it. Be polite and persistent and that you never received the original. You need the invitation letter to be allowed into all your appointments.

Quick question, when you said you went one week later with the orginal, you mean your husband's or the original letter issued to you by getting it printed at CDJ?

I'm only asking cause my fiancé received his, and he will send it to me the original letter along with all the other documents.  Would his letter be just enough or do I still need to get mine printed at the consulate in CDJ prior my interview?

It's the same letter; both beneficiary and petitioner should receive copies.

 

You're good to go once you have that letter! Good luck!!

All this time I thought that even if he got his letter I should have mine otherwise I wouldn't be allowed in during the interview date.  Cause in my head his letter would be inssuficient.

 

This is such a relief. I was planning to stay one day extra at CDJ just to get printed the letter one day in advance.
