The attorney general appeared Sunday on ABC's “This Week,” where host George Stephanopoulos asked him to respond to the controversy over the remarks. At first, Sessions did not answer directly, instead he started to talk about the lawsuit that had been filed against the executive order.

“Why not just call it the state of Hawaii?” Stephanopoulos pressed.

Sessions chuckled.

“Nobody has a sense of humor anymore,” Sessions said, smiling.

Sessions went on to defend Trump's travel ban, without returning to the Hawaii issue.

Apparently upholding the constitution has fallen out of favor. The so-called president can only rule via EO, so anything that resembles the constitutional way is considered aloof by the ill informed.

Nope, quite aloof, especially for a state that doesn't even deal with the issues of illegals the main 48 do. But because they agree with your political leaning must be "common sense". I know favoring breaking laws (and justifying criminal behavior) is quite a common thread with the left so I'll just chalk this up to being angry that the law is actually being followed for a change.

It's amazing that people hold to the thought that Hawaii is just some dinky remote island, where everyone doesn't have the same problems that are dealt with in other states. Joke's on them I guess. It'd be great if those people and the current AG could educate themselves. By golly, I sure hope that Jeffy doesn't hope that the criteria for states means they all have to be attached to one central landmass to be one. If the seas ever rise high enough Alabama might not even qualify.
