Disclosure letter

My fiance had an interview today where She was integrated about a past petition that was cancelled. She was told She needs a disclosure letter. This is how it is worded in the email She received; 

 

Disclosure to petitioner of previous petition, letter from petitioner stating he knows of the petition.

 

What does this exactly mean? Any help would be appreciated.

They want a letter from you saying you know and knew about her previous petition.

this is really weird, but probably this is based in a question made and the answer she gave.  sometime this interviews supposed a big stress and one can forget things or say thing with not enough accuracy that need to be verified. it is very important you write this letter  so let  the process  continue

Yea what @Ontarkie said. They want to know that you are aware that your fiancée had a previous petition for her.

Thank you all. She is under the impression it is from the previous petitioner. For he submitted a letter to the consulate stating that she is a user, this is what her interrogating was about. But he never disclosed that she broke things off with him and went to police and hospital for domestic violence. However she had police report and hospital report in her possession.

Well you are the petitioner. So it's a letter stating that the previous petition and what happened has been disclosed to you by her.

Just for you to write that you know of it and what happened basically.
