Case Status not updated since fingerprint fee received

Hi Everyone,

 

Applied for AOS from K1 visa on 2/6/2017 and went for Biometrics on 3/20/2017. My USCIS case status has been the same for almost two months:

On February 13, 2017, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC____. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Reading around the forums I've noticed that most people have their status updated to "Interview waiting to be scheduled" at this time in the process. Is that typical for everyone, does it depend on where you live, or is it all just really random?

 

Basically, any chance that my case status implies the interview would get bypassed? Or is that completely random?

Seems to be kind of random. Not everyone gets an interview. Some have said here it depends where you live and the amount of interviews needed to done per month/quarter.... not sure on that but not everyone gets an interview again. Perhaps just will take a little longer to update again.

we don't have an answer for you as we just send the AOS on 3/31/2017 and just received the NOA1 in the mail today.

 

Just have a quick question for you: IF you applied for an EAD, did you receive it the day you took the biometrics?

No, we did not. And case status for the I-765 reads as follows:

On February 10, 2017, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSC___, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by March 12, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283.

The EAD process takes 3 to 4 months. You will get a status update when USCIS will mail the card to you.

I don't think it is completely random. My guess is that it is a combination of local office caseload and length of time since your consulate interview. I would think if someone waited several months after POE, to file AOS from K-1, that they would be more likely to have interview.
We filed my wife's AOS 14 days after POE, and she was approved in 136 days, with no interview.

No, you receive the EAD later. It is averaging about 95 days from NOA1.

From Dec. 1 until April1 the status was "We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485", then it changed to "We ordered your new card". Last night it changed to "we approved your Form I-485"

Wow, I'm not going to lie. You have gotten my hopes up! hehe. But this is great news for you!

And during that period from Dec 1 to Apr 1 you basically had no idea what was going on?

Her biometrics appointment was Dec. 27, so we knew there wouldn't be any changes in December.

I was watching the progress of a few people on here that filed a couple weeks before us, and that gave me an idea of when there might be changes. Also, the VJ  estimated dates for the EAD and travel doc were accurate.

Hey no worries, My case was stuck on fingerprint received for 6+ month and then got scheduled an interview
